A detachment from the Marchwood based 17 Port and Maritime Regiment is playing a key role in the Royal Navy’s major operational deployment of 2011, codenamed Cougar 11.
Personnel from the Regiment – which is part of the Royal Logistic Corps – are currently deployed to the Mediterranean on board amphibious assault ship HMS Albion and Royal Fleet Auxiliary landing ship RFA Cardigan Bay.
