une question : c'est les pilotes Marocains qui ont assuré le transfert des USA ?

oui c les notres avec des ravitaillement en vol.. il faut compté quelques 10 heures de vol non stop messieurs

Morocco is set later this week to receive its first new fighter since 1981 with the arrival of four Lockheed Martin F-16s at Ben Guerrir Air Base.

Lockheed confirmed on 1 August that Morocco's first four F-16 Block 52s, which are powered by Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engines, departed the final assembly centre in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Moroccan Air Force will receive 20 more F-16s to become the 25th operator of the fighter jet worldwide. Lockheed won the contract in 2008 after the Moroccan government broke off advanced negotiations with France for the Dassault Rafale.

The complete deal for fighters, weapons and other systems was valued by the US government at more than $2.5 billion. That includes 24 F-16s, engines and Northrop Grumman APG-68(V)9 radars. Weapons also wrapped into the deal include the Raytheon AIM-120C7 AMRAAM, Raytheon AIM-9M Sidewinder, and both laser- and satellite-guided smart bombs.

Desormais il est sur nos bases le F16 Marocain..Ont pourra enfin voir un nouveaux vecetur rouller sur nos tarmac.

Ah tous ces fakes et ces faut temoignages qui circulé sur le net...Maintenant c'est une réalité.

Je m'en souvient sur rmaf.tk peut avant l'annonce du "contrat" Rafale, 2 membres auraient vu 2 F16 semblable au notres decollé de Meknes..Et ont avait dit qu'ils etaient Belges.(tout leur F16 sont gris)..

l'important n'est-il pas que les F-16 soient là?
dommage que les FRA n'organisent pas une journée porte ouverte pour les présentés

Il me semble qu'il y aura une cérémonie pour l'arrivé des f-16, pour ce qui est des portes ouvertes, je pense que l'on aurra l'occasion d'en admirer un lors du salon aeronotique de Marrakech.

honnêtement on va avoir un chasseur presque de cinquième génération et le plus moderne d’Afrique, classe quand même.
De plus entre les mains de nos pilotes n'importe quel pays réfléchira à deux fois avant de pénétrer notre espace aérien je suis vraiment heureux.

Le Maroc deviendra à partir de la semaine prochaine le 25ème pays à posséder et exploiter des avions F16. Quatre officiers des Forces Royales Air (FRA), ancien pilotes d’avions F-5, ont terminé cette semaine 15 mois d'instruction à la "162e Fighter Wing" (Unité de formation à la base aérienne de Tucson en Arizona aux états unis).

Les quatre pilotes rentreront au Maroc le 30 Juillet prochain aux commandes de quatre des 24 avions F16 Block 52 acquis par le Maroc, selon le site officiel de la "162ème Fighter Wing".

«Nous sommes entrain de moderniser notre flotte et nous avons choisi le F-16, non seulement parce qu'il est un avion de grande qualité, mais aussi en raison des relations étroites que nous entretenons avec les Etats-Unis", a déclaré le Général de Brigade Abdelali Houari.

Il a ajouté, «Nous sommes très heureux que nos pilotes soient formés ici. Après un an et demi aux Etats-Unis nos pilotes sont satisfaits, ils veulent rentrer chez eux après avoir acquis beaucoup d'expérience ici en Arizona avec l'Arizona Air National Guard"

Pendant la formation, les élèves pilotes ont eu en moyenne trois sorties par semaine et accumulé plus de 150 heures de vol chacun sur le F-16. Une fois au Maroc, ils seront responsables de la formation des futurs pilotes et contribueront à la gestion des avions F16 à la base aérienne de Ben Guerir (Nord de Marrakech).

Six autres pilotes des FRA sont actuellement à la base aérienne de Tucson, la fin de leur formation est prévue pour Septembre.

Lockheed Martin on Monday said the four jets had departed for Ben Guerir Air Base, which is a former US air base located about 36 miles (57 km) north of Marrakech and once used as a transatlantic abort landing site for the Space Shuttle. It is currently undergoing upgrades that, according to Moroccan officials, are modelled after US Air Force bases.

The first batch of Moroccan F-16 pilots finished their 15 month training course in the United States in June. The US Air National Guard said that four Royal Moroccan Air Force (RMAF) officers, who are former Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter pilots, concluded their instruction at the 162nd Fighter Wing at Tucson International Airport in Arizona. The unit is the international Lockheed Martin F-16 training unit and has provided training to some of the 25 countries around the world that have bought the F-16.

"We are modernizing our fleet and we've chosen the F-16, not only because it is a high-quality airplane, but also because of the close relationship we have with the United States," said Deputy Inspector of the Royal Moroccan Air Force, Brigadier General Abdelali Houari.

As students, the pilots averaged three sorties per week and accumulated more than 150 F-16 hours each. Once home, they will not only be responsible for training others, but will also be instrumental in standing up F-16 operations at Ben Guerir Air Base.

Six other Moroccan pilots are currently in the basic F-16 course in Tucson with graduation planned for September.

Morocco is in the process of upgrading its armed forces and is buying large amounts of military equipment, including fighters, trainer aircraft and frigates. As almost all significant combat equipment was acquired between 1978 and 1981, Morocco is moving ahead with an upgrade programme for its Mirage F1s and is also engaged in the acquisition of new equipment that will ensure the air arm remains credible and effective. The most important type is the F-16, which was designed to keep up with Algeria's purchase in 2007-2008 of 28 Su-30MKAs. The RMAF signed the US$842 million contract in December 2009 for the Block 52 F-16s.

The RMAF has around 60 warplanes and a substantial number of helicopters that are able to undertake combat operations as well as performing general support tasks. The air force’s inventory is being upgraded and swelled by new purchases, such as four Alenia Aeronautica C-27J Spartan transport aircraft.

Meanwhile, in May Hawker Beechcraft announced it had delivered 12 of 24 T-6C turboprop trainers to the Royal Moroccan Air Force (RMAF). The T-6C is an improved version of the T-6B Texan II featuring key upgrades such as an integrated glass cockpit, advanced avionics suite and wing hard-points that can accommodate auxiliary fuel tanks or bombs. The RMAF ordered the airplanes under a US$185.3 million contract announced in September 2009. The T-6C is replacing the turboprop Beechcraft T-34 Mentor and Cessna T-37 Tweet jet trainers in RMAF service
