"Cette année, nous projetons de livrer 17 bâtiments de guerre aux forces navales russes et aux clients étrangers, y compris des SNLE et des bâtiments de surface", a-t-il déclaré lors du Salon international de la défense maritime (IMDS-2011) qui se déroule du 29 juin au 2 juillet à Saint-Pétersbourg.

M. Trotsenko a précisé que la Marine russe recevrait deux sous-marins nucléaires, mais a refusé de citer leurs noms.

Une source bien informée au sein du complexe militaro-industriel a confié à RIA Novosti qu'il s'agissait du sous-marin stratégique Iouri Dolgorouki (utilisé mardi pour un test du missile balistique intercontinental Boulava) et du sous-marin nucléaire à fonctions multiples Severodvinsk.

Selon M. Trotsenko, l'OSK construit actuellement 54 navires, dont 40 pour les forces navales russes et 14 pour des pays étrangers.

The two bomber aircraft were followed by two U.S. Air Force F-15 fighter aircraft from Andersen Air Force Base, according to Air Force Capt. Kim Bender, a spokeswoman for the Pacific Air Force in Hawaii. She said the jets “scrambled and responded to the aircraft.”


“The Tu-95s were intercepted and left the area in a northbound direction. No further actions occurred,” she said. Bender said no other details would be released “for operational security reasons.”


According to one military official, the Russian Bear bombers remained in international airspace, the encounter between the U.S. and Russian aircraft “stayed professional” and there was no incident. The official said it’s impossible to determine whether the Russian bombers carried any nuclear weapons.


U.S. long-range radars and satellites tracked the two bombers as they took off from northeastern Russia and headed south on a long-range flight that required “multiple refueling.” Japan also scrambled fighter jets as the bombers passed near but did not enter Japanese airspace.


U.S. military officials say “it’s highly unusual but not unprecedented” that Russian bombers would fly training missions in the vicinity of Guam. According to one official, “It wasn’t provocative but it certainly got our attention.” U.S. long-range B-52 bombers, also capable of carrying nuclear weapons, are based at Guam.


Since Vladimir Putin reclaimed the Russian presidency, U.S. officials said the number of such flights in the vicinity of the Aleutian Islands and Alaska have increased, but encounters with U.S. aircraft have remained “generally very professional.”

Radar crews will track several targets simultaneously amid heavy jamming and issue target designation data to S-300 missile crews in real time, the Western Military District said.

A group of Su-27 Flanker and MiG-31 Foxhound fighters will pose as “enemy” warplanes.

MOSCOW, February 19 (RIA Novosti) – Two Russian Emergencies Ministry planes will deliver humanitarian aid to Syria on Tuesday and evacuate Russians and nationals of former Soviet republics from the war-stricken Middle East country, an Emergencies Ministry official said.

“Il-62 and Il-76 airplanes have taken off for Latakia [eastern Syria],” the official said, adding the planes would return witn evacuees later in the day.

The planes are carrying around 46 tons of humanitarian aid, including tents and power generators.

Meanwhile, Russian naval vessels in the Mediterranean are also standing by to evacuate Russian nationals if necessary, with an additional four large landing ships also expected to arrive in the area soon, a military source told RIA Novosti.

"The main task of the Russian naval forces will be participation in a possible evacuation of Russian citizens from Syria," the source said.

There was no information available on how many Russian nationals were waiting to travel back to Moscow on Tuesday.

The Russian embassy in Syria estimated there were some 30,000 Russians living in the country, but other reports suggest the figure could be much higher.

Two Emergencies Ministry planes brought 77 Russians back from Syria at the end of January. Russian officials denied the move was an indication that Moscow had changed its stance on Syria, its sole remaining ally in the Arab world.

Russia – along with China – has faced widespread condemnation over its refusal to approve UN sanctions against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, whose forces the international community has accused of widespread human rights abuses. However, Moscow has repeatedly stated it has no interest in seeing Assad remain in power, but is concerned that unilateral sanctions would create a power vacuum that would lead to more violence.

At least 60,000 people have died in Syria since the start of the uprising against Assad in March 2011, according to UN figures.

The Defence Minister Shri A K Antony today said Russia should induct BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in their fleet so that the success achieved in the joint venture will be fully appreciated.

Addressing the ‘Partnership Day’ marking the 15th anniversary of the signing of Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) between India and Russia for the formation of BrahMos joint venture in New Delhi, he said, soon the Indian Air Force will have BrahMos both, on land and air platforms, making it a real force multiplier for all the wings of the Indian Armed Forces.

Army, Navy and Air Force consider BrahMos to be an important weapon due to its speed, precision and power, he said. The Government has also decided to expand the infrastructure at multiple centres to cater to larger production requirement of BrahMos missiles and systems.

Shri Antony said the cooperation between the scientists and scientific expertise of DRDO and NPOM and many other organisations from India and Russia has proved that there is a way to do things faster and take the lead in the world. The partnership has blossomed and yielded results, which have not been achieved by any other country. He admitted that the role of DRDO, NPOM and the quality assurance agencies in grooming this industry to achieve high technology levels and a superior quality product has indeed resulted in customers’ delight, that is, our Defence Forces.

The Minister remarked that this process has resulted in a new trend of thinking, in terms of a collaboration and joint venture, as India too could share its technology and products with others.

On this occasion, the CEO and MD of BrahMos Aerospace Dr. A Sivathanu Pillai in his welcome address gave a brief account of the growth and evolution of this joint venture. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne in his address said that the modified Su-30 Mk-I aircraft will soon be equipped with BrahMos missile.

The construction of the Alexander Suvorov,
the fifth in the series and second of the improved Project 955A (Borey-A) class,
will begin on July 28, when Russia celebrates Navy Day, while the sixth
submarine, the Mikhail Kutuzov, will be laid down in November.

The Borey class submarines are set to
become the mainstay of the Russian Navy's strategic nuclear deterrent fleet,
replacing the ageing Project 941 (NATO Typhoon class) and Project 667 class
(Delta-3 and Delta-4) boats.

Russia’s first Borey class submarine, the
Yury Dolgoruky, officially entered service with the Russian Navy on January 10.
It has been assigned to the 31st submarine division of the Northern Fleet.

Russia is planning to have three Borey

Seuls les Etats-Unis disposent pour l'instant d'avions capables d'éliminer les systèmes de défense antiaérienne le F-16CJ Wild Weasel et le EF-18 Growler. Leur tâche consiste à supprimer la défense antiaérienne de l'ennemi sans pénétrer dans son rayon d'action, tandis que le nouveau Su-25 pourra agir à l'intérieur de cette zone en attaquant les systèmes sol-air et d'autres cibles terrestres.

Le Su-25 blindé et équipé de systèmes radar de bord, même dans sa version la plus performante, reste vulnérable face à la défense antiaérienne moderne. C'est pourquoi le nouvel avion d'assaut est équipé d'un système spécial muni d’antennes placées sous le revêtement, qui détectent la direction du rayon et classent le type de source.

L'avion sera également muni d'un système de détection des rayons laser et infrarouges et d’un système d'aveuglement des ogives guidées dans le spectre infrarouge. Tous les systèmes de bord sont intégrés dans un complexe commun et l'ordinateur prend automatiquement sa décision en fonction de l'information reçue. D'où sa vocation tactique et stratégique à prendre la tête des groupes d'avions d'assaut ou de bombardiers classiques. Mais il pourra également agir seul.

Les Etats-Unis, les Pays-Bas et l'Allemagne ont fourni six Patriot à leur allié de l'Otan au début de l’hiver, déployés au sud et au sud-est du pays, près de la frontière syrienne.
