UTC Aerospace Systems Awarded Turkey F-16 Reconnaissance Program
CHARLOTTE, N.C., – UTC Aerospace Systems has been awarded a contract to provide the advanced DB-110 airborne reconnaissance system on the F-16 platform for the Turkish Airborne Reconnaissance Program (TARP). The contract was awarded by Aselsan Elektronic Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. on behalf of the Turkish Air Force. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX)
Under the TARP contract, UTC Aerospace Systems will supply four DB-110 electro-optic/infra-red (EO/IR) reconnaissance pods for the Turkish Air Force F-16 aircraft and three fixed/transportable Imagery Exploitation Systems. The company will also provide training and logistics support.
Kevin Raftery, vice president of ISR Systems said, “This selection by Turkey marks our ninth award on the F-16 aircraft and with this growing customer base; the DB-110 has become the standard for F-16 reconnaissance systems around the world.”
The DB-110 digital, real-time, tactical reconnaissance system captures images day and night using electro-optical/infrared sensor technology. Images can then be transmitted in real-time to analysts on the ground as well as viewed on the cockpit video display, enabling the pilots to verify targets and re-task based on opportunities revealed during the mission.
UTC Aerospace Systems designs, manufactures and services integrated systems and components for the aerospace and defense industries. UTC Aerospace Systems supports a global customer base with significant worldwide manufacturing and customer service facilities.

Non. Ca va prendre plus de temps car ça va être fait en coopération, sans doute un nouveau système et non un achat "off the shelf".

Intéressant comme info, cela veut dire que dans la classe Gabya (ex-OHP), seul TCG Gediz a le Smart-S.

J'ai l'impression que sur la photo il n'est pas encore embarquée sur un navire mais je suppose qu'il lui est destiné et selon l'ordre d'intégration, il doit le recevoir en 1er.

Pour moi, il n'est pas encore monté du tout sur la photo ou sur le navire sur sa gauche ?

je pense qu'il est embarqué sur un autre OHP mais pas le 497 ... enfin, ca donne pas cet impression ... mais difficile de voir si il y a un OHP à l'autre coté.

L'armée turque recrute des officiers, sous-officiers et des soldats de rang professionnelle. Les salaires varieront entre 1 600 et 3 000 livres turques (941$ - 1 764$).

Ils seront assurés et pourront avoir un congé de 45 jours par an. Après 7 ans de service, ils toucheront une prime de 70 000 livres turques (42 000$).

Israel seeks to sell Heron control stations to Turkey
Israeli company Elbit has applied to the Israeli government to request approval to sell new ground control stations for Heron unmanned serial vehicles to Turkey.

Israel has a new strategy among its various maneuvers to try to improve relations with Turkey after the Mavi Marmara flotilla crisis. Israeli company Elbit has applied to the Israeli government to request approval to sell new ground control stations for Heron unmanned serial vehicles to Turkey.
It is reported that after receiving approval from the Israeli government, the company will provide the new ground control stations through representative companies in Turkey.
Out of the 10 Herons purchased from Israel, only 3 can be flown because Turkey currently has only one ground control station. New ones were requested from Israel but the request was denied due to strained relations following the Mavi Marmara crisis. Israel now seeks to deliver these systems to Ankara in order to repair relations.

Turkey has largely finalised the acquisition model for its T-Loramids surface-to-air missile (SAM) programme after confusion over whether it had abandoned a direct purchase of systems, including offset commitments by the bidding companies. The country is now planning to acquire 12 missile firing units, as stated in the previous tender, while also requiring the bidders to simultaneously pitch a co-development model for a more advanced SAM, Turkish and Western defence industry sources in Ankara told IHS Jane's .

"Bidding companies made a co-development suggestion contained in three or more pages. This suggestion will influence the selection of the missile system. From a design standpoint no research and development (R&D) work can be done on the co-development of a more advanced missile," argued a Western source.

To the surprise of many, a long-awaited decision on the purchase of the missile systems at an estimated cost of over USD4 billion was not made during a meeting of the Executive Committee (EC) of the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) on 3 January.
