La Turquie et l'Azerbeïdjan ne forment qu'une seule entité culturelle et ethnique. Pour la Mongolie, ils sont nos cousins, nos pères se sont séparés avant, ils peuvent réclamer cette date car on formait une seule entité politique en -209.

ANKARA, Turkey — Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Turkey will formally launch the Turkish Space Agency within the next three months.

The agency will be tasked with coordinating all of Turkey’s space and aerospace programs and will be located in Kazan, a township near Ankara.

A procurement official familiar with the effort said the space agency's basic work will concentrate on satellite technology, satellite launching systems, space stations and deep space research.

Ankara has drafted a will for the Turkish Space Agency that will head to the cabinet for approval before being debated by Parliament.

Transport Minister Binali Yildirim said the governmental effort for the agency was the joint work of the Turkish military General Staff, Defense Ministry, and the Science, Industry and Technology Ministry.

“We have studied similar legal framework in the United States (NASA’s), Japan, Germany and France. Our legal framework will be special to Turkey’s needs,” Minister Yildirim said.

Turkey also is working on plans to build a satellite-launching station. The procurement official said Datca, on Turkey’s southwestern coast, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, a breakaway Turkish state recognized only by Turkey, are two potential locations for the station.

Turkey deployed more troops to it’s border with Syria in Kilis after attack launched from a Syrian area controlled by the Islamic State.

Turkey sending reinforcements to Kilis on the Syria border after multiple rocket attacks. Five rockets have hit the Turkish province of Kilis near the Syrian border, killing one person and injuring 26, officials said, in the latest attack launched from a Syrian area controlled by the Islamic State of iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS).

Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan, who visited the southern province on Sunday, said two of the projectiles landed in the morning, slightly injuring six Syrian refugees and 10 Turkish nationals. Three more hit Kilis in late afternoon, killing one person and wounding 10 others.

A Turkish M60T - a version of the US-made tank upgraded by Israeli Military Industries (IMI) - has apparently survived being hit by the latest Russian man-portable anti-tank guided weapon (ATGW) system.

The attack was seen in a video released by the Islamic State militant group on 19 April and showed a man firing a 9K129 Kornet ATGW towards a tank on a hilltop position. The missile hit its target, but the tank was not seen exploding or burning.

The Islamic State said the target was a Turkish tank deployed to Bashiqah, 30 km to the northeast of Mosul city in northern Iraq. The Turkish military presence at Bashiqah and several other locations in Iraq was revealed in December 2015, prompting Baghdad to demand that Turkey withdraw all its troops from its territory.

Ankara ignored the demand, stating that the base at Bashiqah had been established to train a militia to help expel the Islamic State from Mosul.

Later on 19 April, Turkey's Anadolu Agency reported a military source as saying that the Islamic State carried out an attack on a M60 tank at Bashiqah. The source said the tank had been slightly damaged and there were no casualties in the camp. Turkish forces returned fire, killing 32 Islamic State fighters, the source said.



photograph emerged on social media purportedly showing the tank that was hit in the attack. The tank was an M60T in a hull-down defensive position with much of the applique armour fitted to the front right side of its turret blown away. The underlying armour did not appear to have been penetrated.

The M60T is an M60A1 that has been upgraded with a 120 mm smoothbore gun, a new fire-control system, a more powerful engine and transmission, and hybrid armour (both active and passive) over its frontal arc.

According to the video description, the attack occurred on the Turkey-Syria border. In the video, Islamic State fighters use what appears to be either a Russian-designed 9K155-2 METIS-M antitank guided missile. Fielded in the 1990s, both the METIS operate much like the U.S. TOW missile, but instead of using a wire to direct the missile into the target, they have laser-guided warheads.

The T-155 Firtina  self-propelled howitzer is a modified variant of the Korean K9 Thunder. It uses license-built subsystems of the K9 such as the gun system and loading mechanism. The Turkish Army currently operates over 100 howitzers of this type. It is unknown if more will be acquired, however overall Turkish requirement is speculated to be for 300 new self-propelled howitzers.

Turkey begins construction of the first amphibious assault ship for the Turkish navy. The new ship was named TCG Anadolu (Anatolia in Turkish) and developed by the Sedef–Navantia consortium.

The TCG Anadolu will use the same design as that of the Spanish ship Juan Carlos I. All of the ship’s weapons system will be procured by Turkish firms Havelsan and ASELSAN. Expected launch in year 2021

The first steel cut ceremony was held at Sedef shipyard in Tuzlay Bay close to Istanbul. During the ceremony President of Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that “TCG Anadolu will be the first ship in the navy from which F-35B SVTOL will be operate and would be delivered in 4 years (compared to the originally planned 5 years and a half).

ANKARA, Turkey — After its southern cities bordering Syria came under increasing mortar attacks from the Islamic State outposts across the border, Turkey’s military and procurement officials have accelerated the country’s two independent armed drone programs.

Some of Turkey’s cities on the Syrian border, most notably Kilis, have been hit by a series of rocket attacks by the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, from Syria since mid-January. Several dozens people have been killed or injured.

The Turkish army has been responding with its howitzers deployed on the Syrian border but procurement sources say Turkey needed more efficient ways to counter the Islamic State attacks.

ANKARA, Turkey — Turkey has just officially begun constructing its first landing platform dock (LPD) but the country’s president already is talking about future production of an aircraft carrier and even a nuclear vessel.

The production of the TCG Anadolu, Turkey’s first amphibious assault ship, kicked off last month at a high-profile ceremony attended by defense and procurement VIPs and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Erdogan praised efforts for Turkey’s all indigenous development programs, including the LPD, although he called the ship’s production “a belated move.”

He said that Turkey’s dependence on foreign arms systems has dropped from 80 percent in 2002 — when his government came to power — to 40 percent. “We must aim at zero dependency by the year 2023,” he said.

Erdogan said that the LPD program would hopefully be the first step toward producing a “most elite” aircraft carrier. Then he upped Turkey’s naval ambitions.

“I see it as a major deficiency that we still do not have a nuclear vessel,” he said.

But officials and experts are cautious.

“I am not sure if we can afford such ventures in the short-run,” said one procurement official. “I am not sure, either, if such grand designs would fit our security threat perceptions.”

A London-based Turkey specialist said: “The idea [about a carrier and a nuclear vessel] goes in line with Turkey’s political ambitions. All the same, I’d say, it is as much over-ambitious as Turkey’s political designs.”

In 2013, Turkey announced that it had selected the local shipyard Sedef for its LPD program. In the LPD contract, Sedef is partnered with Spain's Navantia.

ANKARA, Turkey — The Turkish Navy is considering the purchase of long-range patrol aircraft to add to its fleet of CN-235 and ATR72s, navy and procurement officials said.

“The requirement comes in line with the government’s foreign policy priorities,” explained one procurement official.

Navy officials say the planned aircraft should be able to fly 1,000 to 1,200 nautical miles away from their main base in Turkey and fly 12 to 15 hours.

“Our current fleet may not respond to our future roles,” said one Navy official. “The new patrol aircraft should ideally have anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare roles.”

Naval industry sources say the Turkish description of the requirement would probably point to the Boeing P-8 Poseidon (formerly the Multimission Maritime Aircraft or MMA). The P-8 Poseidon was developed for the US Navy by Boeing Defense, Space & Security, modified from the 737-800ERX.

Otokar to exhibit Altay main battle tank at Turkey’s largest military exercise EFES 2016.

A comprehensive military drill held by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) brought together 860 military personnel from eight countries, including the United States and Saudi Arabia, as part of the annual Efes-2016 combined joint military exercise along Turkey’s Aegean costal area.
During EFES 2016 military exercise was introduced new military vehicles developed by Turkish firm Otokar. Otokar presents Arma armoured vehicle, Tulpar heavy infantry fighting vehicle and Altay main battle tank.
Altay is the third generation+ main battle tank (MBT) of the Republic of Turkey and is being indigenously developed under the Milli Tank Üretim Projesi ALTAY (MITÜP ALTAY) programme (Altay National Tank Project). Altay will be the first national MBT developed for the Turkish Land Forces Command (TLFC).
