On Wednesday 1 February 2017, the HNDGS Chief, Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis HN, paying an official visit to Morocco, laid a wreath at the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and then he met with the Moroccan Minister Delegate for the Administration of National Defense, Mr. Abdellatif Loudiyi
After the official welcoming ceremony, the HNDGS Chief met and awarded commemorative badges to members of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, who have attended military academic institutions in Greece.
During the bilateral talks, with the Deputy Inspector General, General El Houssine Aouad, given the absence abroad of the Inspector General, General Abdelfatah Louarak, they discussed about the current security environment. They also brought up issues of establishing a framework of bilateral Armed Forces cooperation in the fields of operational and individual training as well as information sharing. The Inspector of the Royal Air Force, Lt General El Abed Alaoui Bouhamid and the Inspector General of the Navy, Rear Admiral Mostafa El Alami also participated in the talks.
Then, the HNDGS Chief visited the 1st Parachute Brigade located in Rabat, where he was briefed on the organization, mission and role.
On Thursday 2 February 2016, the HNDGS Chief visited the Royal Moroccan Navy Base, located in Casablanca.
During his stay in Rabat, the HNDGS Chief met with the Greek Ambassador, Mr Panagiotis Sarris and the representative of the Greek Community in Morocco, Mr. Konstantinos Pistikos, as well.

Il faut développer au max notre coopération militaire avec la Grèce, ils ont une expérience certaine notamment dans le maritime. Il faut faire des exercices militaires type Chebec etc entre SIGMA ou même FREMM et leurs bâtiments + sous marins. On apprendra bcp de leur expérience, leur sous marinade pourrais par exemple nous servir lors d'entrainement de traque de sous marins.

Senior commander of Morocco’s Royal Navy had talks with Greek peers on a set of issues of mutual interest, on top of which the possibility of acquiring Submarines used by the Greek navy, said the website Far-Maroc specializing in military issues.
The same source reported that commanders of the Tarik Ben Zyad and Sultan Moulay Ismail frigates raised during a visit to Greece the prospects for strengthening cooperation between the two countries’ navies as well as the possibility of acquiring used Greek submarines.
Since last year, negotiations have been ongoing between Morocco and Russia on the delivery of the Amur-class 1650 super-quite submarine, which will be the Kingdom’s first submarine.
Russia’s Amur-1650 diesel-electric powered submarine will significantly boost Morocco’s capabilities, as it will carry Club cruise missiles in addition to featuring air-independent propulsion (AIP). With a length of 66.8 meters and a beam of 7.1 meters, the submarine can sink into a depth of 250 meters.
The acquisition of submarines will also boost the capabilities of the Royal navy in its protective mission of the 2952km coastline stretching from the strait of Gibraltar to the Mauritanian coast on the Atlantic and from Tangier to the Algerian coast on the Mediterranean.
The main Atlantic bases of the Moroccan navy are found in Casablanca, Agadir and Dakhla, while the Mediterranean bases are located in Ksar Sghir and Al Hoceima.
Although it was established in 1960, the Moroccan navy traces its roots back to the 11th century with the rise of the Al Moravid dynasty, and during the era of the Almohad dynasty, which stretched through the Maghreb, the Moroccan navy was the mightiest in the Mediterranean. author-avatar

il y avait un article ou on pouvait lire que la Grèce voulait se débarrasser de certains bâtiments de guerre, de sous-marins en fin de vie et quelques avions de chasse (crise économique l'oblige). mais il est peu probable que nos responsables acceptent pour l'acquisition de notre premier submersible un d'occasion, si la décision est prise ca va etre du neuf (il y a l’embarras du choix, Allemagne, France, Russie,..).
mais il est plus plausible qu'une coopération avec les grecques sur tout ce qui touche le navale (inclus sous-marins), c'est un pays connu pour son expertise dans le domaine naval.
