Demers Ambulances continues adding to an already busy order book
April 5, 2006, Beloeil, Quebec, Canada – Paul Demers & Fils Inc. (Demers Ambulances), the Canadian leader in ambulance manufacture and one of the most important firms in the North American industry, has confirmed five important orders with Dubai, Morocco, Iraq, the city of Calgary and the city of Ottawa. These orders represent a total value, including the options, of close to $10.5 million CDN.
“Our goal is to become the world leader in ambulance design, manufacture and assembly while retaining our leadership status in Canada,” stated Yves Demers, President of Demers Ambulances. “These new orders indicate we’re moving in that direction. The work and commitment of our entire workforce, above all at our Beloeil plant and headquarters, reflect the passion we bring to producing the finest ambulances there are for the benefit of populations around the globe.”
Demers Ambulances at the service of the population of Dubai
Already a presence in over 20 countries around the world, Demers Ambulances has just received an order from the United Arab Emirate of Dubai for the manufacture of 6 Millenium ambulances. The order from Dubai was secured by the company’s export branch, Demers Export. The ambulances to be delivered there, this coming summer, will be equipped with the most advanced technologies in the industry. Designed by Demers Ambulances, the Millenium vehicles offer the advantages of an ambulance made completely out of composite materials, enhanced visibility thanks to integrated headlights, an aerodynamic profile that yields a savings of close to 12% in fuel costs, and one of the safest possible environments for users.
The quality and the technologies of Demers Ambulances in Iraq
The employees of Demers Ambulances were immensely pleased and proud to receive the praises of an Iraqi customer to whom they delivered more than 300 vehicles in the fall of 2005. “These are the finest ambulances we have ever had on Iraqi territory…. The Demers ambulances are at the cutting edge of technology and a pleasant surprise for all the operators…. You make proud people of us,” were the comments of the government organization in charge of supplies for the Iraqi Ministry of Health. And on the basis of that reputation in the Iraqi market, Demers Ambulances and its export branch, Demers Export, can confirm a new order with another organization on Iraqi soil. At this pace, Demers will have delivered over 2,000 ambulances to Iraq since the late 1970s.
Demers ambulances in Morocco
Demers Export, the branch of Demers Ambulances that handles exports, confirms a new order of two Mystere MX163 vehicles for the Hôpital universitaire international Cheikh Zaid in Rabat, Morocco. In 2005 Demers Ambulances delivered another two Mystere ambulances to the royal palace and residences, in addition to a Millenium vehicle. In all, nearly 500 Demers ambulances have been delivered to Morocco over the last 18 years. The Mystere MX163 offers efficiency and performance. It is distinguished by its spacious work areas, its ergonomics and its great storage capacity. Equipped with the most sought after functional capabilities in the industry, the Mystere ambulance meets ambulance operators’ most stringent demands.
Mystere MX170 ambulances from Demers for Alberta
A contract stretching over five years has been signed with the city of Calgary for the manufacture and after sales services of the Mystere MX170. The order provides for options that could bring the total quantity of vehicles to close to 50. The Mystere MX170 ambulance is the only one of its kind on the world market. Equipped with technological innovations developed by the Demers Ambulance research and development team, this model offers operators the added value of the most workspace in its category and an electronic management system (DEMS) that facilitates operation of the ambulance’s electronic features.
Production of these vehicles will begin in May of this year, with deliveries scheduled for the end of the summer. Delivery and servicing of these ambulances will be carried out by Advanced Response Vehicles, a division of Demers Ambulances, serving the Canadian and American West for over 15 years. Demers Ambulances was selected as supplier from among a number of manufacturers, having earned the trust of the city of Calgary on the basis of previous fleet after-sales service by the Demers/ARVI team along with the benefits, technical features and reliability of the ambulances. Over the past several years, more than 50 Demers ambulances have been delivered to the city of Calgary.
Demers Ambulances in Ottawa
A new agreement for the delivery of eight new Mystere MX160 ambulances has been signed with the Ottawa Paramedic Service. The Mystere MX160 is one of the largest ambulances in the Demers lineup and one of the most popular in Ontario. The Ottawa Paramedic Service has been working with ambulances made by Demers for 10 years now, and over that time more than 100 vehicles have been supplied to the City of Ottawa by Demers Ambulances. February 1, 2010 - Beloeil, Quebec – Demers Ambulances, the Canadian leader and one of North America’s largest ambulance manufacturers, will deliver this week the 100th ambulance intended for the British Columbia Ambulance Service (BCAS). This ambulance will leave the Beloeil factory heading towards Vancouver.
BCAS is responsible for pre-hospital transport throughout the province of British Columbia. Entirely built in Quebec, a large portion of the fleet of Demers ambulances delivered to BCAS thus far, are already in service at various stations, and will be on site at the different venues of the Vancouver Winter Games.
“It is with great pride that we put the finishing touches on the 100th ambulance destined for British Columbia Ambulance Service that will be shipped to Vancouver”, declared Mr Benoit R. Lafortune, Executive Vice-President of Demers Ambulances. “It is even more gratifying for our team knowing that our ambulances will be used during the Vancouver 2010 Games, as we feel we are part of the Canadian delegation”, added Mr Lafortune.
It is the first time Demers Ambulances secures an order from BCAS. The agreement reached in July 2009 after a public tender process, includes the design and delivery of up to 230 ambulances by 2012.
Over the years and through a close collaboration between the end-users and the product designers, the Demers Ambulances team has always emphasized ergonomics, safety, and technological innovations. This interaction allows Demers to remain on the lookout for the latest trends, while offering effective and economical solutions to pre-hospital services. The BCAS order encompasses several design aspects exclusive to Demers that combine safety, efficiency and innovation.
Many innovative components enhance both the patients’ and the paramedics’ security during interventions in the field, including: console integrated in the control panel allowing better peripheral vision for the driver; new style lateral double door including a unique slider allowing an easier and safer operation of the oxygen cylinders; LED type emergency light system for providing paramedics with increased road visibility and reduced energy consumption.
