Turkey hints at potential Hurkus aircraft sale to Azerbaijan
ANKARA, Turkey — Turkey’s Caucasus ally Azerbaijan will likely become the second foreign customer of the Hurkus, a Turkish-made basic trainer and light-attack aircraft.
Ismail Demir, Turkey’s chief procurement official and head of the Presidency of Defense Industries, said Dec. 4 that there is strong interest in the Hurkus in Azerbaijan. “We will soon see important developments [about exporting the aircraft to Azerbaijan],” Demir said.
Just a day before Demir’s statement, a Hurkus underwent a flight test in Azerbaijan, according to Turkey’s ambassador to Baku, Cahit Bagci. Azerbaijan’s Air Force commander, Lt. Gen. Ramiz Tahirov, was present for the event.
One procurement source said the Azeri government is interested in acquiring Hurkus’ Hurjet version. The armed trainer Hurjet is a jet engine version of the turboprop Hurkus, Turkey’s first indigenous basic trainer aircraft. Turkish Aerospace Industries launched the Hurjet program in 2018, with a target of having the aircraft’s maiden flight in 2022.
The Hurjet is to have a maximum speed of Mach 1.2 and can fly at a maximum altitude of 45,000 feet. The aircraft’s design is for a maximum payload of 3,000 kilograms, including ammunition, radar technology and a camera.
Hurkus-C, the armed variant of the base version Hurkus, features locally developed ammunition including CIRIT, TEBER, HGK and LGK. It can also use INS/GPS-guided bombs, conventional bombs, non-guided rockets and machine guns.
The armed Hurkus also features armored body parts, a self-protection system, a data link, laser tacking, an electro-optical and infrared pod, an external fuel tank, and advanced avionics.
With a 1,500-kilogram payload that can be used through seven external hardpoints, the Hurkus-C can perform light-attack and armed reconnaissance missions

Turkiye delivers more MEMATT mine clearance vehicles to Azerbaijan
Defense News August 2022 Global Security army industry
POSTED ON MONDAY, 01 AUGUST 2022 10:45
As reported by Azernews on July 30, Türkiye handed over 13 unmanned, remote-controlled mine clearance vehicles to Azerbaijan, Trend reports citing the Turkish Ministry of National Defense's Twitter post.
"The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan received 13 MEMATT remotely-controlled vehicles developed by the Turkish Military Factory and Shipyard Management (ASFAT) defense company. Thus far, a total of 20 vehicles have been delivered to Azerbaijan," the ministry tweeted.
MEMATT's design, prototyping, and production took 14 months before it was ready for service with the Turkish Armed Forces. The MEMATT achieved over a 95% success rate in mine tests conducted in Turkey and passed all required tests in Azerbaijan.
The MEMATT is covered with Armox 500T, the world's toughest guard plate, is mine-resistant and can be remotely controlled from a distance of 500 m (1,600 ft). The equipment can move at a speed of 4 km/h (1.1 m/s), descend to a depth of 25 cm and clear a 1-kilometer-long, 1.7-meter-wide area of mines within an hour. It has a wireless system that allows viewing of cameras and video recordings as well as displaying vehicle information and real-time HD image quality. It also possesses attachment sensors on board that automatically detect the digging depth in order to prevent damage to the attachment.
According to Caspian News, in addition to the MEMATT, Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) also uses three Slovak-made Bozena-4 and two Bozena-5 minesweepers, one Croatian-made MV-4 special-purpose mine-clearing machine, and one AARDVARK mine clearance vehicle of the British production for mine clearance. Revival-P1 minesweeper of the Azerbaijani production is also expected to join the mine action soon. Officials at ANAMA say the neutralization of unexploded ammunition, warheads, and missiles in the combat zones could take 5-6 years, while it is about 10-13 years for the mined areas.

For the first time ever, Turkish-modelled Komando's of the Azerbaijani Army film themselves utilizing both UAVs and MAVs to employ drone-dropped munitions.
The soldiers use both (DJI) MAV-class and Hexacopter-class UAVs to drone live munitions on simulated Armenian trenches.

White masking tape is taped over the entire gun except for the barrel and the entry/exit for the mounted optic. Same for the PC, helmet(w/o NVG mount), and belt system. White backpack covers are used for the rucks.
