En 2011, le consortium russe de construction navale OSK livrera à la Marine du pays et aux clients étrangers 17 bâtiments de guerre, dont deux sous-marins nucléaires lanceurs d'engins (SNLE), a annoncé mercredi aux journalistes le PDG du consortium, Roman Trotsenko.

"Cette année, nous projetons de livrer 17 bâtiments de guerre aux forces navales russes et aux clients étrangers, y compris des SNLE et des bâtiments de surface", a-t-il déclaré lors du Salon international de la défense maritime (IMDS-2011) qui se déroule du 29 juin au 2 juillet à Saint-Pétersbourg.

M. Trotsenko a précisé que la Marine russe recevrait deux sous-marins nucléaires, mais a refusé de citer leurs noms.

Une source bien informée au sein du complexe militaro-industriel a confié à RIA Novosti qu'il s'agissait du sous-marin stratégique Iouri Dolgorouki (utilisé mardi pour un test du missile balistique intercontinental Boulava) et du sous-marin nucléaire à fonctions multiples Severodvinsk.

Selon M. Trotsenko, l'OSK construit actuellement 54 navires, dont 40 pour les forces navales russes et 14 pour des pays étrangers.

Le K-535 Iouri Dolgorouki (Projet 955 Boreï) doit prendre la mer pour poursuivre les essais du missile intercontinental Boulava. Deux missiles ont été chargés à son bord : un premier qu'il est prévu de tirer en direction du polygone de Koura (Kamtchatka), et un second, factice, qui doit servir à tester un tir en salve. Le K-550 Alexandre Nevski (Projet 955 Boreï) doit pour sa part effectuer sa première sortie en mer. Enfin, le Severodvinsk (Projet 885 Yasen) doit reprendre la mer afin de poursuivre des essais.

Le Iouri Dolgorouki et le Severodvinsk doivent être remis à la Marine russe avant la fin de l'année.

Le Salon international Interpolitex 2011, consacré aux moyens de sécurité pour la police et la défense, se tiendra au Centre des expositions de Russie, à Moscou, du 25 au 28 octobre, a annoncé mardi le Service fédéral russe pour la coopération militaire et technique (FSVTS).

"Environ 300 produits à vocation militaire seront exposés au Salon, où le ministère russe de l'Intérieur et le Service russe de la frontière présenteront leur derniers produits. La plus grande part de l'exposition est consacrée aux systèmes optiques, aux drones, aux ordinateurs spécifiques, aux véhicules blindés et aux équipements de protection", a indiqué le service de presse du service.

Le Salon réunira 322 entreprises russes de matériaux spéciaux, d'armements et de moyens de sécurité, ainsi que 25 producteurs de 12 pays étrangers. L'exposition est organisée par le ministère russe de l'Intérieur, le Service fédéral de sécurité de Russie (FSB) et le Service fédéral russe pour la coopération militaire et technique (FSVTS).

Le 26 octobre, des présentations d'armements et de matériels militaires ainsi que des exercices d'unités spéciales des Troupes de l'intérieur russes se dérouleront à Krasnoarmeïsk, dans la région de Moscou, dans le cadre du salon.

Le programme du Salon prévoit en outre plus de 20 manifestations, dont une conférence scientifique internationale sur le démantèlement en matière d'armements, de matériels militaires et de munitions, ainsi qu'une réunion (du Conseil d'affaires) de la Commission interétatique pour la coopération économique et militaire de l'Organisation du Traité de sécurité collective (OTSC: Arménie, Biélorussie, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Ouzbékistan, Russie et Tadjikistan).

A multi-core processor for the army

­­The Ministry of Industry and Trade has opened a bid for the creation of a powerful multi-core microprocessor for 760 million rubles. The project has become part of the Federal Target Program No.1 “Development of weapons” based on the government decree “On changes to the government defense order for 2011 and scheduled period between 2012 and 2013.”

According to the client, the peak performance of one microprocessor should be at least 150 Gflops (which means having the ability to perform 150 billion tasks a second). This performance is achieved by using 8 to 12 cores. The national operating system, Elbrus, will be used to manage the computers created based on these processors.

The microprocessor is being developed mainly to be used with detecting devices, both radar and sonar. There are also plans to use it in computer systems for the simulation of new generation weapons.

The future developer’s profit has been outlined in the technical assignment at 15%, which amounts to 98.8 million rubles.

“It will be an incredibly high-tech supercomputer,” says Andrey Mitrofanov, spokesman for T-platforms. “Processing capacity of 150 Gflops is not a bad indicator.”

“The computational nodes we use support this performance level and even higher, but it is attained with several microprocessors. In this case, we are talking about getting the same result from just one microprocessor. Meanwhile, the final version of the device could have dozens of such processors,” continues Mitrofanov.

Among Russian supercomputers, the Lomonosov has set the world record for performance. It was created at the Research Computer Center of Moscow State University and has total capacity of 1373.06 Tflops (able to perform 1.373 trillion tasks a second) – a result that can be achieved by using 33,072 cores.

In Russia’s industrial sector, all supercomputers are divided into two categories. Those in the first category are able to lead to the production of something new and groundbreaking. For example, drugs against cancer and HIV are being simulated on a supercomputer at MSU. Other supercomputers ensure practical developments for large companies. They are used to conduct high-priority exploration of natural resources like ore deposits and oil and gas fields.

This requires the creation of a machine capable of supporting the work of high-tech equipment.

“Things that before took decades or years to complete can now be done in a month to six months by using a supercomputer. All the new models always undergo computer simulation first,” says Mitrofanov. “Using supercomputers before going to develop new offshore deposits reduces costs by tens and even hundreds of times, as in the very beginning, there is an active exploration process, which makes it possible to not only cut costs, but also the research time.”

In the aircraft industry, the use of supercomputers allows such giants as Boeing and Sukhoi to avoid building dozens of test models and instead create a 3D model, correcting it throughout the experiments, says Mitrofanov. As a result, research and design work is optimized, and the time and price of the work becomes significantly reduced.

Ministry of Industry and Trade representatives were unable to comment on the order for the development of the super-microprocessor in a timely manner. Nevertheless, the ministry’s technical assignment reads that after testing and design works are complete, the demand for the device will amount to 1,000 units in the first year. In the third year after the completion of work, the demand will be 100,000 units. The price of a mass-produced microprocessor should amount to no more than 9,000 rubles.

Ce nouveau corps sera composé d'environ 5000 hommes. Il sera placé sous la direction d'un vice-ministre de la Défense. D'aprés le journal moscovite, cela faisait 10 ans qu'il était question de créer une police militaire.

Une police militaire sera créée en Russie avant 2012 dans le cadre de la réforme des Forces armées, a annoncé lundi à Moscou le ministère russe de la Défense.
"La mise en place d'un corps de police militaire touche à sa fin. La dernière étape sera consacrée à la création des normes régissant son fonctionnement… Ce grand travail, qui implique des discussions avec les organes fédéraux du pouvoir exécutif concernés, sera achevé en 2011", lit-on dans un communiqué du ministère.
"Les spécialistes du ministère chargés de la réforme ont étudié les aspects administratifs, juridiques et militaires et l'expérience de certains pays étrangers où ces structures fonctionnent depuis longtemps", a ajouté le ministère.
Le ministère présentera prochainement un projet d'amendements aux Codes civil et de procédure pénale, ainsi qu'aux règlements des Forces armées.

In Oct 2011 JSC Armalit-1 plans to deliver a parcel of shipborne pipeline accessories for Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard in order to equip the first Project 12700 Alexandrite mine countermeasures ship designed by Almaz Central Design Bureau.

The new project became a breakthrough in nanotechnology. With displacement of 800 tons, the ship has unique and the world's biggest hull made of monolithic fiberglass and shaped by vacuum infusion under Russian-developed technology. According to the shipyard's representatives, the hull was shaped only within 1.5 days which is an achievement claiming for Guinness record. It is considerable milestone in non-metallic hull technology.

Shipboard systems of the record-holding ship will be equipped with valves, filters, clacks, and kingstons produced by JSC Armalit-1 to the overall sum exceeding RUR 28 mln. Latest Russian shipbuilding developments tighten requirements to equipment and impose additional liabilities to customers and operators. Pipeline accessories produced by Armalit-1 again proved the right to be used in new Russian projects.

Project 12700 is designed for countermine warfare both independently and within minesweeping task units in littoral zone. Uniqueness of this project lies in its high maneuverability achieved by light monolithic hull and effective thrusting system. That gives unquestionable advantage to a minesweeper. The project's lead ship will be launched late in 2012. Defense ministry plans to order a series of such ships for the Navy.

The new destroyer currently under development will become one of the most powerful surface forces of the Russian Navy.

A source associated with the Russian military industrial complex confirms that the new vessel will replace three classes of current Navy vessels – the destroyers, the anti-submarine ships and possibly also the missile cruisers of the 1164 project (Slava Class).

The construction of the new destroyers might start in 2012, newspaper Izvestia reports.

-This will be a universal vessel, which can replace all three projects, the source told the newspaper. –In terms of its modern armament, it will outdo the anti-submarine vessels, and in terms of power and anti-aircraft capacities – also the current destroyers and missile cruisers, with exception of the “Peter the Great” and its fellow class vessels, he adds.

The main asset of the vessels will be its universal weapon complex which can apply various missiles and missile torpedoes, as well as a new generation of anti-aircraft defence system, Izvestia reports

As reported by Interfax, the new ships are likely to be nuclear-powered. A total of 14-16 vessels are planned built over the next 15-20 years.

As BarentsObserver previously reported, Russia is also in the process of developing new classes of frigates and corvettes.

The new destroyer will be built with the newest communications technology and will have so-called “stealth” qualities, making it hard to trace by radars, Newsru.com reports.

Un missile balistique intercontinental Boulava a été tiré avec succès vendredi 28 octobre depuis le sous-marin Iouri Dolgorouki, lors du troisième test depuis le début de l'année 2011, a annoncé vendredi à RIA Novosti un porte-parole du ministère de la Défense.

"Le missile a été tiré depuis le sous-marin nucléaire Iouri Dolgorouki en immersion", a indiqué l'interlocuteur de l'agence.

Selon lui, le sous-marin situé dans la mer Blanche a visé un polygone du Kamtchatka (Extrême-Orient).

"Le tir s'est déroulé normalement, les ogives ayant atteint leur cible en temps voulu", a précisé le militaire.

Le sous-marin nucléaire Iouri Dolgorouki lanceur d'engins (SNLE) Iouri Dolgorouki (classe Boreï) est destiné à être doté de ces missiles.

Le missile R30 3M30 Boulava-30 (code OTAN SS-NX-30, dénomination internationale RSM-56) pourrait devenir l'arme principale des forces stratégiques navales russes. Il s'agit d'un missile à trois étages à propergol solide. D'une portée de 8.000 km, le Boulava peut être équipé de dix ogives nucléaires hypersoniques de 100 à 150 kt et à trajectoire indépendante.

Au total, la Russie a pour le moment procédé à 17 tirs d'essai du missile, dont neuf seulement ont été couronnés de succès.

Le constructeur général du système unique de commandement des troupes Vadim Potapov a antérieurement déclaré que le système serait livré à l'armée à la fin de 2011.

Créé en 1993, le système de navigation GLONASS (GLObal NAvigation Satellite System) est destiné à déterminer les coordonnées des objets sur terre et en mer avec une marge d'erreur d'un mètre.

MOSCOW (BNS): Russian scientists have developed new mobile radar 55Zh6ME to enhance the capabilities of the aerospace defence sector of the nation.

The new radar has the ability to detect targets at the distance of up to 1,800 kilometers and an altitude of up to 1,200 km.

"The radar has been developed for the Russian Armed Forces, especially for aerospace defences," RIA Novosti quoted a spokesman for the Nizhniy Novgorod Research Institute of Radio Engineering (NNIIRT) as saying.

Russian military will soon receive the delivery of the first batch of the mobile-radar, he added.

Baltic Fleet Held Missile Launching Drills


Baltic Fleet (BF) warships headed by Baltiysk Naval Base Commander Rear Admiral Alexander Nosatov held closing naval exercise in summer training period. About 20 warships and supply vessels were involved in maneuvers, reported BF Information Support Group to Central Navy Portal.

During the exercise held in the Baltic Sea, corvettes Soobrazitelny (commanding officer Capt 2 rank Alexander Telepov) and Stereguschiy (commanding officer Capt 2 rank Mikhail Burkin) practiced naval engagement elements and air defense drills along with BF guided missile boats.

Missile boat R-129 led by Capt 3 rank Georgy Motuzenko launched two Termit antiship cruise missiles at "enemy" warships in the test range. The corvettes conducted air defense firings and effectively shot down the missiles.

Being at sea, the ships practiced joint maneuvering and conducted communication, electronic warfare, damage control, and anti-terror drills.

The Russian Air Force has deployed the upgraded version of the Beriev A-50 flying radar.

Designers of the new Airborne Warning And Control System (AWACS) aircraft have overhauled most of its computing hardware and software and combat stations, reported military spokesman Colonel Vladimir Drik.

“The aircraft underwent a deep modernization which took into account reports from the units where such vehicles are used. The result is a great improvement in a number of specifications of the A-50U AWACS,” he said.

Thanks to the upgrade the flying radar now has a greater range, improved target identification and better satellite communication capability. It can better track cruise missiles and supersonic aircraft and is more reliable overall, the Air Forces officer added.

The media earlier reported that the replacement hardware for the A-50U project allows it to track more targets and direct more friend-fighters. It also weighs less than the old equipment, which allows the aircraft to remain in the air longer before refueling.

The A-50 AWACS are based on the Ilyushin Il-76 transport which first entered service in 1984. Russia had produced some 40 such aircraft over the decades. It is also jointly developing flying radar based on the A-50, designed together with India
