ROSOBORONEXPORT TO SHOW 200+ DEFENCE ITEMS IN ISTANBUL

Rosoboronexport, a subsidiary of Rostec Corporation, will present over 200 advanced items of Russian defence equipment designed for Air Force, Navy and Army purposes at the 11th International Defence Industry Fair - IDEF 2013 to be held from 7th to 10th May 2013 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Rosoboronexport stand will promote Russian rotary-wing systems such as the Ka-52A reconnaissance-and-attack helicopter, Mi-171Sh multi-purpose military transport helicopter, Mi-28NE attack helicopter, Mi-35M combat transport helicopter, Ansat and Ka-226 light utility helicopters as well as other aircraft that are in great demand on the world market. Russia's exposition will also advertise the Ka-32A11BC fire-fighting helicopter which is considered for procurement by the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Within the framework of the T-LORAMIS Russian-Turkish cooperative programme for the development of air defence systems, Rosoboronexport offers its partners a unique air defence missile system - Antey-2500, capable of solving the problem of missile defense. If a contract is concluded for the procurement of the Antey-2500 air defence missile system, an advanced and highly effective Russian-Turkish air/missile defence system will be developed in Turkey.

Besides air systems Rosoboronexport will also display at IDEF 2013 military ships, including Project 12061E Murena-E air cushion landing craft which can become a spectacular component of landing craft-docks in Turkish shipyards. The craft can embark combat materiel and personnel from, and disembark on both equipped and unequipped shore.

In Istanbul the Russian side will also present the Terminator, the latest design of a new fire support combat vehicle, already demonstrated abroad, that aroused great interest among military experts worldwide.

“Turkey was the first NATO country with which Russia established close ties in the field of military technical cooperation, - pointed out Anatoly Aksenov, advisor to the director general and head of the Rosoboronexport's delegation. - Given the capacity and prospects of the Turkish arms market, we consider military technical cooperation with that country as one of the most important lines of our activities”.

According to the Turkish high military commanders Russian-made military equipment showed itself to a good advantage in operations against illegal armed separatist factions and terrorist groups.

The 11th International Defence Industry Fair exhibition IDEF 2013 is held under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defence of Turkey and Turkish Armed Forces Foundation in the Istanbul TÜYAP Fair, Convention and Congress Center. It will host more than 300 corporate exhibitors from 140 states.

Aselsan & Thales introduce the LMM Missile Launching System at IDEF 2013

At the IDEF 2013 defense exhibition currently held in Istanbul, Turkey, Aselsan and Thales are showcasing a new gyro stabilized naval turret designed for small displacement ships.

The Aselsan Missile Launching System (MLS) developed to provide defense for oil rigs, seaports and naval bases against a variety of surface threats is a customized compact and lightweight solution for Fast Interceptor Crafts. It has minimum weight and reduced impact on vessel's speed and maneuverability.

Thales LMM (Lightweight Multi-role Missile) is a lightweight, precision strike missile, which has been designed to be fired from a variety of tactical platforms including helicopters, fixed or rotary winged UAV, wheeled or tracked vehicles or fast in-shore naval craft. The target set includes surface threats such as static installations, APC's, assymetric threats, fast in-shore attack craft and UAV's.

Plusieurs pays sont intéressés par l'Anka. La Jordanie, l'Arabie saoudite et l'Égypte (qui en négociation avec TAI).

La Jordanie étant frontalière avec Israel, ce serait très difficile pour eux d'avoir des UAV MALE, donc elle est un potentiel acheteur de 1er plan.

Le Roi de Jordanie, lors de sa visite à TAI, avait l'air intéressé par l'ANKA.

Ils sont un peu dans la même situation que l'Egypte ...

Turkish Shipyard ADIK showcasing its Landing Ship Tank (LST) project at IDEF 2013


At the IDEF 2013 defense exhibition currently held in Istanbul, Turkey, Turkish shipyard ADIK (Anadolu Shipyard) is showcasing its Landing Ship Tank project. The project consists in a locally produced new generation fast amphibious vessel of upper-intermediate size designed to meet operational requirements of Turkish Naval Forces Command.



The vessel is intended to play a major role in terms of power projection and amphibious operations. It will also acts as a flag ship and logistic support vessel.

Anadolu Shipyard is responsible for the design, construction and system integration. Navy Recognition was told during IDEF that construction of the first of class will start shortly and should take about 44 months until completion. The original contract signed in 2011 is intended for the procurement of 2 units with an option for 2 more vessels.

The LST is a mono-hull type vessel, all steel construction, designed to meet the speed, sea keeping maneuverability and stability requirements of Turkish Naval Forces Command.

Designed to carry about 24 Main Battle Tanks, the LST comes with 2 motorised pontoons to ferry MBTs and vehicles from the LST to the beach. When not in use, the pontoons are stored on the port and starboard side of the LST's hull.

Regarding systems, we were told that the two bow mounted guns will be Oto Melara's Fast Forty 40mm Naval Mount. The radar system will be a Smart-S Mk2 locally produced under liscence by Aselsan.

IDEF 2013: Eurocopter to offer Turkish guided missile



Eurocopter plans to test fire Roketsan’s Cirit laser guided missile from an EC635 by the end of the year, it has emerged.

The two companies are working under a MoU signed in 2011 to integrate the Cirit on the aircraft and aim to carry out a flight demonstration in September or October. It has yet to be determined whether this would take place in South Africa or Turkey.

Speaking at the IDEF exhibition, Eurocopter representatives said that following the demonstration, the Cirit would be offered as an optional addition to the EC635/645 weapons package.

Unlike similar weapons developed in the US, which are essentially guidance kits for 2.75 inch unguided rockets, Cirit has been developed to fill the gap between such weapons and larger anti-tank missiles.

Turkish Aerospace Industries is currently working to integrate the Cirit with the full ATAK-standard T-129, designated the T-129B, which will be delivered to the Turkish armed forces from 2014.

Eurocopter also used the exhibition to release details of the increased capabilities of the new EC635 T3/P3.

The upgraded variant features a revamped rotor design, rotor blades that are 10cm longer, an upgraded FADEC software suite, and lateral air inlets that are compatible with inlet barrier filter systems.

The improvements have increased the maximum take-off weight of the aircraft by 30kg to 2,980 kg.

Christian Fanchini, Eurocopter’s military operational marketing manager, explained that the increased payload becomes even more significant in hot and high conditions.

At an altitude of 2,134 m in ISA+20 conditions, the payload increase is 240kg while at altitudes above 914 m in ISA+35 conditions, the increase is 270 kg.

Eurocopter vice president of sales for Europe, Thomas Hein, explained that there was an increasing demand from armed forces around the world for lighter helicopters to be employed in the scout/light attack role.

‘Rather than the heavier transport helicopters, more and more military users are looking to introduce lighter aircraft, such as the [UH-72] Lakota with the US Army. More and more militaries are recognising the benefits of going to a lighter platform and the versatility that provides,’ Hein said.

IDEF 2013: Roketsan unveils new smart munition




Turkish weapons manufacturer Roketsan plans to test-fire its new Smart Micro Munition from the Anka medium altitude long endurance UAV, the company has revealed.

A Roketsan spokesman told Shephard the Smart Micro Munition would likely be integrated and flight tested on the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) Anka before the end of the year, stated.

The spokesman said the weapon had been developed for use for UAV classes and light attack aircraft where payload weight was a critical factor. The munition weighs less than 50lb and is less than 1m in length.

‘The munition uses the UMTAS [anti-tank missile] laser seeker without that weapon’s engine. It is designed to be used in platforms where weight is critical. It is dropped from a designated altitude and with the help of the seeker is able to manoeuvre to the target without an engine,’ the spokesman explained.

According to company literature released at the exhibition, the weapon has a maximum range of 8km, depending on the launch altitude, and has a blast fragmentation warhead for use against soft targets.

The company has already carried out ground tests of the munition and plans to start flight tests presently, including the integration with the Anka UAV. Production is expected to commence before the end of the year.

Roketsan is also moving ahead with the development of the UMTAS anti-tank missile, displaying a long range variant dubbed L-UMTAS, which has a range of 8 km.

The company plans to carry out a series of flight tests on the T-129 ATAK helicopter in July to demonstrate the capabilities of the missile’s IR seeker. It will then move into serial production of the missile in mid-2014 as deliveries begin of the UMTAS alongside the full ATAK-standard T-129B attack helicopter.

TAI has already test-fired a laser-guided UMTAS from one of the interim T-129 helicopters, displaying footage of a successful test from 8 km as well as a test firing of the Cirit laser guided missile during the exhibition.

Les formes Carrés du CAFRAD me rapelle un peu le design de la Frégate Chevalier Paul , j'espère que notre Frégate sera meilleur que la Frégate Française , qui reste , une de mes fregate préféré parmis les marine mondiale .


Faut aussi dire que je préfère la marine Française , après la Marine Turque .


Le dernier Batiment c'est quoi exactement , on dirait les base , il me semble , du BPC Mistral mais pour un seul Helicoptère .


Sa serait super que l'Egypte en achète une 20 aine du T-129 , possible selon toi Ryad ?

faut etre prudent les gars avec les comparaisons aux produits west éprouvés.

pour les egyptiens ou autres khalijis je crois qu´ils font seulement du window shopping et de la courtoisie diplomatique,pour les premiers les finances ne le permettent pas en ce moment meme a credits,pour les 2eme ce sont les champions des promesses,ils vont faire quelques petits achats symboliques ici et la mais laisseront les mains du gros materiels,ils ont Apache/M1/Leo/Predator and co je les vois pas prendre des produits encore en tests et sans retex,on voit ce qu´ils font endurer aux grandes firmes internationales..en plus vous aurez une forte concurrence de la Chine et la Russie qui ont le meme profil des clients potentiels,mais ils ont l´avantage precieux du soutient politique/diplomatique de poids avec les ventes en plus d´avoir des references dans la matiere.

ceci n´est pas contre la paix mais encore la guerre pkk aurait permis une retex continue comme le font les francais et US mais la je vois mal comment stamper vos produits apres combat proven

il reste que le but ultime doit etre/rester l´autosuffisance avec possibilités d´export en tete et pas de produire seulement pour exporter,c´est quand on inverse ces priorités qu´on se retourve dans le piege qui a mené d´autres a mettre la clef sous la porte

donc preudence,optimisme mais realisme aussi.

Je pense sincèrement que la veritable lancé de l'industrie de l'armement Turque sera effectif dès 2017-2018 , le temps que l'altay rentre dans l'inventaire , que le T-129 Commence à roder un peu dans les montagne avec quelque manifestation de son stock avec Omtas , Umtas , que nos corvettes arrive , et que d'autre projet en nombre prenne forme ou soit mis sur le marché .

J'espère d'ici là que l'on aura notre FA .

Maintenant je partage le fait , et je me demande si on s'en eloigne un peu , moi je dit , il faut être capable de fabriquer tout ce que l'on a besoin de A à Z , maintenant si il y a de l'export , c'est un + , de toute manière les exportation se feront d'elle même , il faut aussi un poid Diplomatique , Politique , et Economique plus fort pour que les acheteur ai une " Sécurité avec " car il y a en a qui en achetant de l'armement souhaite tisser "acheter" les liens avec la Turquie , au cas où demain sa se corce dans certains dossiers .


Hors là , j'ai l'impression que l'on a un grand nombre de produit mais jusqu'à ce jours je me demande si ils sont tous acheter par les TSK .


Question osé : Est-ce que le desinteret pour certains outils militaire de la part des TSK ne cacherait pas une volonté de la part de certain de ne pas amplifier les capacité operationel de l'armée Turque ? Osé comme question c'est vrai .


En parlant du JNG-90 , le mec qui en a parler n'avait peut-être pas eu vent du Mini-Hecate .

Perso, ma préférence va pour le mini hécate, du fait du sérieux et de la longue compétence de la firme PGM en matière de fusil de précision. sans compter qu'il est combat proven, est usité par plusieurs pays avec de bons retex.

@T-HR2, si la photo est sur un répertoire perso, le mode opératoire est le même, tu colles les propriétés (url) du cliché dans la fenetre "image". Assures-toi que c'est du jpeg. Je viens de le faire a partir d'image google et non pb. A moins que ton provider sorte de chez MKEK

Le contrat porte sur du ToT pour des radios, la valeur serait de 3.5 millions de $ mais selon le journaliste, ça pourrait monter à 50 millions.
