La Russie se dotera prochainement d'un sixième régiment de S-400, selon le ministère de la Défense.


Les Forces aérospatiales russes seront, d'ici la fin de l'année, équipées d'un sixième régiment de missiles sol-air S-400 Triumph, annonce dimanche le service de presse du ministère russe de la Défense.

A l'heure actuelle, les Forces aérospatiales disposent de quatre régiments de DCA dotés de missiles sol-air dernier cri S-400 Triumph. Ils assurent la protection antiaérienne de Moscou et de la Région industrielle centrale. Le cinquième régiment a été mis à la disposition d'écoles des Forces aérospatiales.

En novembre dernier, la Russie a déployé des missiles S-400 en Syrie pour protéger ses avions engagés dans l'opération aérienne contre le groupe terroriste Etat islamique (EI, ou Daech) dans ce pays. Des avions de transport militaire ont acheminé ces systèmes de défense sol-air de la région de Moscou à la base aérienne syrienne de Hmeimim.

Le S-400 Triumph (code Otan: SA-21 Growler) est un système de missiles sol-air de grande et moyenne portée destiné à abattre tout type de cible aérienne: avions, drones et missiles de croisière hypersoniques. Le système est capable de tirer simultanément 72 missiles sur 36 cibles qu'il détecte à une distance de 600 km. Conçu par le bureau d'études Almaz-Anteï, le système S-400 Triumph est en dotation dans l'armée russe depuis 2007.

Russia has forward deployed its new attack helicopters in Syria to bring them closer to one of the main fronts in the current offensive against Islamic State militants.

Airbus Defence & Space satellite imagery shows that there were four Ka-52 Alligator and three Mi-28N Night Hunter helicopters deployed to Al-Shayrat Air Base, 30 km southeast of Homs city, on 31 March. Al-Shayrat has previously been used as a forward base for Russian Mi-24 and Mi-35 helicopters, four of which could be seen at the base on 31 March.

The Ka-52s and Mi-28Ns were first spotted at Humaymim, the main Russian air base in Syria, in news footage released on 17 March, but Russia has not revealed how many have been deployed.

The Russian Ministry of Defence has released infrared footage filmed by the Mi-28Ns as they carry out precision strikes with either 9M114 Shturm/Kokon or 9M120 Ataka missiles.

Russian news networks broadcast footage on 5 April showing two Ka-52s repeatedly hitting positions on the outskirts of Al-Qaryatayn, a town 42 km southeast of Al-Shayrat, with rockets. The Syrian government announced on 3 April that its forces had "fully restored security and stability" to the town after killing the remaining Islamic State fighters there.

In addition to the powerful air group at Al-Shayrat, Russia has deployed attack helicopters to Tiyas Air Base, 67 km to the east.

The Abkhazian News Network Agency (ANNA) released footage on 3 April showing two Russian Mi-24P attack helicopters and one Mi-8 utility helicopter taking off from Tiyas. At least one of the Mi-24Ps carried missiles.

Airbus Defence and Space satellite imagery shows there were three Mi-24/35s and one Mi-8/17 at Tiyas Air Base on 31 March. The Mi-8/17 has not moved since at least December 2015, suggesting it is a non-operational Syrian aircraft.

A battery of six 122 mm 2A18 (D-30) howitzers have been deployed in the north of the air base.

In course of field training, artillery battalion of the Novorossiysk separate costal missile and artillery brigade performed firing at surface targets.

Units of the missile and artillery formation had arrived at the range near the Cape of Iron Horn (Taman Peninsula) and deployed a field camp.

Crews of 130mm coastal self-propelled artillery complexes Bereg successfully engaged targets located at large distances.

After performing assigned tasks, the units returned to their permanent locations.

The A-222 Bereg (Russian: Берег; “Coast”) is a Russian 130 mm self-propelled coastal artillery gun, which was developed in the 1980s and first shown to the public in 1993 at an arms fair in Abu Dhabi.

The Bereg artillery system consists of one command and control vehicle (CPU), a combat support vehicle (MOBD) and up to six weapon systems (SAU). All of them are mounted on 8×8 wheeled all-terrain vehicles providing excellent mobility.

The AK-130 gun is mounted on a wheeled MAZ-543 8×8 vehicle and was designed to engage surface ships and fast attack boats as well as ground targets. It is capable of engaging targets within 1–2 minutes and can fire up to 12 shots per minute.

Russian Mi-28 attack helicopter crashed in Syria in the early hours of Tuesday morning, killing two pilots, Russian news agencies quoted Russia’s Defence Ministry as saying.

The helicopter was not shot down, the ministry said, adding that the helicopter crashed in Homs province. The pilots’ bodies had been recovered and brought to Russia’s air base in Hmeymim, the ministry said.

The Mi-28NE “Night Hunter” is a modern attack helicopter designed to carry out search and destroy operations against tanks, armoured and un-armoured vehicles, and enemy personnel in combat, as well as low-speed airborne targets. It can operate night and day, and in adverse weather conditions.

The Mi-28N “Night Hunter” has been officially accepted into service with the Russian Ministry of Defence. The “Night Hunter” meets the latest international standards for combat attack helicopters, and Mi-28NE is its export version.

Deux ans plus tard, bis repetita… Mais cette fois en mer Baltique. Ainsi, le 11 avril, l’USS Donald Cook, qui venait de quitter un port polonais de Gdynia, a été survolé à de multiples reprises par deux Su-24 Fencer, alors qu’il naviguait dans les eaux internationales, à 70 miles au large de l’enclave russe de Kaliningrad. Un responsable militaire américain a précisé que les deux bombardiers avaient enchaîné une vingtaine de passes, à une altitude de 300 pieds.

D’après le Wall Street Journal, les manoeuvres des avions russes ont perturbé celle d’un hélicoptère polonais, qui devait se poser sur le pont de l’USS Donald Cook.

Le lendemain, un hélicoptère de type Ka-27 « Helix » appartenant à la marine russe a effectué plusieurs cercles autour du destroyer américain, dans l’intention, apparemment, de prendre des photographies. Puis, au moins un autre Su-24 Fencer a, à nouveau, enchainé des passes au-dessus de l’USS Donald Cook. Un responsable du Pentagone a même parlé de « profil d’attaque simulé », l’avion russe ayant volé à 9 mètres d’altitude.

Bien évidemment, les aéronefs russes n’ont, à aucun moment, répondu aux sollicitations radio de l’équipage du destroyer de l’US Navy.

Pour le moment, la marine américaine se refuse à faire le moindre commentaire, si ce n’est qu’elle a fait état de l’ouverture d’une enquête, qui s’appuiera sur les vidéos prises des incidents, les témoignages des marins de l’USS Donald Cook ainsi que sur les données radar.

Ces incidents en mer Baltique surviennent alors que, pour la première fois depuis 2014, se tiendra un Conseil Otan-Russie le 20 avril prochain.

The new Armored Assault Vehicle based on chassis «Tigr» armoured car. This new version has protections against mines and further armor. Assault version «Tigr» is ideally suited for tactical missions such as scouting, patrol, convoy escort and command and liaison.

The internal volume of the vehicle is increased to allow greater comfort for the onboard personnel and crew for long periods of missions.

The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation is the principal security agency of Russia and the main successor agency to the USSR’s Committee of State Security (KGB). The Federal Security Service (FSB) and Interior Ministry special units are suppressing thugs blocked in a suburb of Makhachkala, the capital of the Russian North Caucasus Republic of Dagestan, by force, Russia’s National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) told TASS Wednesday.

“In response to legitimate demands of the law enforcement officers to lay down arms and surrender to the authorities, the gunmen opened fire from automatic weapons. The FSB and Interior Ministry special units were forced to start suppressing the thugs by force,” NAC said.

A spokesman for the NAC Operational Headquarters in Dagestan told TASS earlier that the regime of a counterterrorism operation has been introduced in the village of Leninkent in a suburb of Makhachkala.
