Je crois avoir rater un episode mais...African Lion on connait...mais African Sea Lion ?

C'est un exercice bi-annuel qui a commencé en 2016, 2018 n'était pas amphibie

Non c'est la deuxième edition je pense ou la 3 ème ? Il y avait eu des images de nos soldats sur un LHD US, avec V-22 Osprey etc

C'est une déclinaison de la partie maritime d'African Lion qui fait intervenir désormais de plus grands moyens constituant un exercice de plus grande envergure et à part entière.

D'ailleurs depuis 2016 on parle d'African Sea Lion notamment avec la participation de l'USS Wasp (LHD)

The exercise took place between July 10 – 14.

Forty-two Royal Moroccan Navy and Royal Moroccan Naval Infantry personnel came aboard amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), where they participated in mutual training briefs and worked with operations planners to help carry out the mission.

The final day of the exercise culminated in a simulated amphibious raid carried out via MV-22 Ospreys from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 264 (Reinforced).

Other aspects of the exercise included division tactics operations with Royal Moroccan naval vessel RMS Allal Ben Abdellah, aerial and surface amphibious debarkation practice, air defense, and bilateral diver training.

“Our relationship with Morocco is vital to our national security. It’s very important that we are able to work with them, especially given their strategic location on the Strait of Gibraltar,” said Capt. F. Byron Ogden, commander, Amphibious Squadron 6.

African Sea Lion is the first bilateral exercise the Wasp ARG has taken part in since departing from Naval Station Norfolk June 25.

Wasp ARG is comprised of Commander, Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 6, the 22nd MEU, USS Wasp, amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio, and amphibious dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41).

C'est tout un groupe amphibie US + Marines qui participe à l'exercice.

Ce type d'exercice récurent axé amphibie montre clairement une chose, nos moyens amphibie seront développés dans un futur proche, achat de LPD/LHD ainsi que blindé amphibie.

Ou que les USA s'entraine a debarquer dans un pays étranger...genre l'Iran...

La flotte qui se dirige vers les approches du littoral iranien se compose de :
- L'USS BARTAAN LHD5 : le navire qu'a connu le lancement de plusieurs opérations militaires US d envergure.. Notamment la guerre en Irak..
- L'USS NEW YORK LPD21
- L'USS OAK HILL LSD51

Comme je vous ai dis.. La flotte a copme objectif l Iran à la base

l'iran n'est pas la Syrie ou l 'iraq, c'est une proie très difficile à avoir, au risque de grosses pertes et un gros brasier dans tout le moyen orient....
