Description
The Northrop Grumman air surveillance and defence centres are complete and proven airspace management systems which can be delivered within nine months of purchase and can be implemented in either fixed or tactical configurations.The present capability, with its embedded surveillance and weapons control software packages, provides for the display and automatic identification of more than 400 correlated tracks, the automatic and simultaneous control of numerous flight intercepts and the control of land-based weapons.The surveillance software package includes active tracking, height processing, identification and telling functions. A passive tracking function also enables the command centre to be operational in a hostile ECM environment. The weapons control package implements advanced algorithms to perform threat evaluation, weapons selection, intercept control, active mission processing and other functions.The centres currently process plot and/or track data from more than 13 radars with or without overlapping coverage. They can also receive tactical datalink communications to provide airspace management for large regions or entire nations.An essential element of the Northrop Grumman systems approach is its integrated display hardware and software. The centres provide up to 30 local display consoles and 28 remote display consoles. Advanced display software is implemented using multipurpose display consoles and large-screen displays.The air surveillance defence centre's modular architecture allows for the provision of smaller systems that have the capability to grow in capacity as required.Northrop Grumman has had extensive experience in integrating its systems into existing command/operations centre environments. The configuration was developed in the late 1980s. Northrop Grumman has deployed various configurations of tactical and fixed processing and display systems in more than 20 countries including Argentina, Australia, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Iran, Israel, Jordan, South Korea (partial), Morocco, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland (partial), Taiwan, Thailand and Venezuela.
