La Russie a procédé en avril aux premiers tirs de démonstration des missiles hypersoniques qui dotent les systèmes anti-aériens Pantsir, a annoncé lundi à RIA Novosti le directeur général du holding Systèmes à haute précision Alexandre Denissov.

La Russie a lancé les recherches dans le domaine des armes hypersoniques il y des dizaines d'années. Actuellement, pratiquement tous les systèmes de missiles sol-air sont dotés de missiles hypersoniques capables de voler à Mach 3-4. Les recherches sont menées en vue de porter la vitesse à Mach 5-7.

"Les travaux dans ce domaine ont substantiellement avancé et sont passés de la phase de mise au point à celle des essais réels. En avril, nous avons procédé aux tirs de démonstration qui se sont déroulés sur le  polygone d'Achoulouk dans la région d'Astrakhan", a indiqué le responsable.

Selon lui, les missiles ont été tirés sur des cibles se déplaçant à une vitesse de 1.000 mètres par seconde.

Un détachement comprenant plusieurs systèmes antiaériens de courte portée russes Pantsir-S1 effectue des tests en Arctique, a annoncé dans une interview à RIA Novosti le directeur général du holding Systèmes de haute précision Alexandre Denissov.

"Nous sommes fiers que le rôle de pionnier parmi les systèmes de défense antiaérienne dans l'Arctique ait été attribué au système Pantsir S-1. Aujourd'hui, un détachement comprenant plusieurs systèmes de ce type est déployé dans les conditions extrêmes du nord et y effectue des tests d'aptitude au combat", a expliqué le responsable.  

La nécessité d'adapter les Pantsir S-1 au climat arctique a été évoquée début 2014 par le vice-premier ministre russe Dmitri Rogozine.  

Le système antiaérien de courte portée Pantsir-S1 est destiné à protéger les sites militaires et civils (centrales nucléaires, grandes usines, sites importants) ou à appuyer les systèmes sol-air de longue portée S-300 et S-400. Chaque véhicule doté du système Pantsir-S1 est capable de protéger un terrain dans un rayon de 20 km et à une altitude de 15 km.

Pantsir-S1 tire des missiles et des obus d'artillerie. Les missiles d'une portée de 20 kilomètres se déplacent à la vitesse de 1.300 mètres par seconde et sont capables de neutraliser les cibles aériennes les plus modernes (surtout les armes de haute précision). Les obus, d'une portée de 4 kilomètres, détruisent les cibles navales, terrestres ou aériennes à une altitude allant de 0 à 3 kilomètres. Le Pantsir-S est en mesure de frapper quatre cibles simultanément.

Russia’s Sevmash shipyard will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its fifth Yasen-class nuclear submarine, the Arkhangelsk, on March 19.



A groundbreaking ceremony for the fifth Yasen-class nuclear submarine, the Arkhangelsk, will be held at Russia’s Sevmash shipyard on March 19, media reports said.

The Yasen-class subs are touted as the most advanced nuclear-powered multipurpose underwater craft in the Russian Navy.

They are projected to replace Russia's Soviet-era attack submarines like the Akula-class subs, and are believed to be a counterpart to the US nuclear-powered Seawolf- and Virginia-class submarines.

Russia is currently constructing three Yasen-class submarines, in addition to the one that was put into service by the Russian Navy earlier.  

All future Yasen-class submarines will have a state-of-the-art design featuring a modified hull profile and modernized equipment. The hull is made of low-magnetic steel.

The Yasen-class is the first Russian submarine to be equipped with a spherical sonar system, which consists of a spherical bow array, flank arrays and a towed array. Due to the large size of this spherical array, the torpedo tubes are slanted and placed behind the main control compartment.

In addition to its 533-mm torpedoes, a Yasen-class submarine is capable of firing cruise missiles from its eight vertical launching systems.

They also can carry Onyx and Kalibr supersonic anti-ship missiles or land attack cruise missiles.

The submarine has a crew of about 90, which suggests a high degree of automation in the submarine's different systems. For comparison's sake, the newest US Virginia-class attack submarine  has a crew of 134.

Russian Military Unveils Revolutionary Electronic Warfare System




Russia's new Richag-AV radar and sonar jamming system can be mounted on helicopters, ships and other military equipment to jam potential adversaries' weapons systems from distances of several hundred kilometers away; it has been hailed by developers as having no analogue anywhere in the world.

At a presentation for journalists in Kazan on Wednesday, Russian radio-electronics firm Radio-Electronic Technologies Concern (KRET) announced that it is handing over the first batch of a new helicopter-mounted electronic warfare system known as the 'Richag-AV' to the armed forces.

The Richag-AV system, mounted on the Mi-8MTPR1 (a variant of the Mi-8MTB5-1 helicopter) is said to have no global equivalent. Its electronic countermeasures system is designed to jam radar, sonar and other detection systems in the aims of defending aircraft, helicopters, drones, ground and naval forces against air-to-air and surface-to-air defense systems within a radius of several hundred kilometers. It can be mounted on units from any branch of the armed forces, including helicopters and airplanes, as well as ground and ship-based forces.

The Mi8-MTPR1-based Richag-AV platform, using multi-beam antenna arrays with DRFM technology, is designed to actively jam and thus 'blind' radar systems in order to defend against radio-electronic guided weapons systems. In a combat situation, the system would operate as part of an aviation shock attack group aimed at breaking through virtually any defense system, blinding everything up to and including the US MIM-104 'Patriot' anti-aircraft missile system.

Rossiyskaya Gazeta explained that in addition to working as a signal jamming system, Richag-AV is capable of carrying out radar-based intelligence gathering, which involves the finding of foreign sources of electromagnetic radiation. With an onboard database on different types of military installations, the system is capable of quickly determining the type of target, thus allowing it to jam it effectively.

Reporters in Kazan were informed that the Russian armed forces received three Mi-8MTPR-1 helicopters equipped with the Richag-Av on Wednesday, and will receive a total of 18 such systems by October 2016, at a total cost of 11.5 billion rubles ($186 million).

The system's predecessor, the 'Smalta' jamming system, was developed back in the 1970s, and featured a 100 km radius; in its own time the system was considered among the most effective in the world. Alongside the Richag-AV, the Russian military is presently being equipped with other electronic warfare systems, including the L-175B Hibini air and 1L269 Krasuha-2 and 1L267 Moskva-1 ground-based electronic warfare systems.

KRET is Russia's largest radio-electronic industrial holding; it was created in 2009. The company is involved in the development and production of radio-electronic equipment in the civil and military aviation sphere, as well as air-based radar systems, electronic warfare systems, and a variety of precision instrumentation.

Mistral-class Sevastopol ship to undergo first sea trials March 16-20




PARIS, March 9. /TASS/. The amphibious assault helicopter carrier of the Mistral class, the Sevastopol, being built at France’s St. Nazaire shipyards for Russia, will undergo the first sea trials on March 16-20, the contractor company DCNS told TASS, adding that the purpose of the checks will be test navigation systems.

"There will be no Russian sailors on board during the sea trials," the company’s official said. He recalled that the Russian sailors who had taken a six-month course of instruction at the first ship of the Mistral class - the Vladivostok - have left St. Nazaire last December.

The DCNS is going ahead with the project in accordance with the original schedule, the company said. In February, the Sevastopol’s on-board equipment started transmitting the signal for the international Automatic Identification System, AIS

The €1.12-billion contract for building two Mistral class ships for the Russian Navy was concluded in June 2011. The first ship, the Vladivostok, launched in October 2013, was to be delivered to Russia back in November 2014. At the last moment Paris suspended the handover indefinitely saying the crisis in Ukraine was the reason. The Vladivostok has since remained moored in St. Nazaire. The Sevastopol is to be finalized by the end of this year.

Russia has also purchased French technology for the combat information control and communications systems.

Mistral landing helicopter carriers will perform four tasks at a same time: receive helicopters, land troops, and act as a command post and a floating hospital. Each ship will carry a group of 16 helicopters. Six of them can be deployed on the flight-deck at the same time. The cargo deck can accommodate more than 40 tanks or 70 motor vehicles.

Russia is buying the French helicopter carrier Mistral with French equipment, including combat navigation devices, but will arm it with its own weaponry. The Mistral ships will carry upgraded Russian Ka-32 Alligator attack helicopters.

The navalised version of the Alligator features a folding rotor head and folding stub-wings. Other modifications are rumored to include the ability to launch Kh-31 (AS-17 'Krypton') and Kh-35 (AS-20 'Kayak') anti-ship missiles. Some reports also reported the installation of a Mig-35 fighter's Zhuk-A phased array radar in the nose of the Ka-52K. (Source and pictures).

The first test flight of the new Ka-52K took place on March 7 at the Progress Aresenyev Aviation Company 'Nikolai Sazykin' plant, a subsidiary of Russian Helicopters. The helicopter features a dark gray camouflage. The inscription on the tail "?? ??? ??????" means it belong to the Russian Navy Naval Aviation.

The helicopter features four hardpoints under its wings. Similar to the land forces version, the Ka-52K is fitted with a GOES-451 optronic sensor under the nose and a 2A42 30-mm automatic cannon.

Intended originally to be deployed from the two Mistral class LHDs built in France, it is not clear what the Russian Navy will do if the two amphibious vessels are not delivered. Russian Ministry of Defence official have recently declared however that the Russian Navy has a need for Naval Attack helicopters and will use the Ka-52K regardless of the Russian Mistrals fate. It won't be possible for the Russian Navy to operate them from the future Ivan Gren-class landing ship (Project 11711). The Ka-52K will have to be shore based or deployed from Russian Navy's only aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov.

Russia and France signed a $1.6 billion deal for two Mistral-class ships in June 2011. The handover of the first ship, the Vladivostok, was scheduled for November 14, but did not take place.

On November 25, French President Francois Hollande postponed the delivery of the Vladivostok to Russia over the situation in Ukraine.

En novembre 2014, le commandant en chef de l’Otan, le général américain Philip Breedlove, s’était inquiété du déploiement par les forces armées russes de missiles « capables d’avoir à leur portée la totalité de (la région) de la mer Noire ». Et il avait également indiqué « surveiller » de près la possible installation d’armes nucléaires.

La Russie, depuis qu’elle a annexé la Crimée en mars 2014, n’a pas caché son intention d’y renforcer ses moyens militaires, en annonçant l’installation d’une station d’alerte antimissile ainsi qu’un investissement de 1,75 milliard de dollars en faveur de sa flotte de la mer Noire, dont l’état-major est installé à Sébastopol. En outre,14 avions de combat de type Su-27 et Su-30 y ont été récemment déployés.

Depuis, une rumeur dit que Moscou aurait envoyé en Crimée des armes nucléaires tactiques. Sauf que, pour cela, il aurait fallu que les autorités russes en informent leurs homologues américaines, conformément au traité nouveau Start, en vigueur en 2010. Les États-Unis et la Russie ont en effet convenu de notifier tout mouvement de leurs armes nucléaires…

Toutefois, Moscou agite cette perspective comme un chiffon rouge. Dès mars 2014, la presse russe avait déjà évoqué l’envoi de bombardiers stratégiques TU-22M3 – à capacité nucléaire – à Simféropol, en Crimée, à l’horizon 2016.

En décembre, son chef, Sergueï Lavrov, avait affirmé que, étant donné que la Crimée était désormais un territoire russe, elle pouvait très bien accueillir des armes nucléaires. Et, qu’ainsi, rien ne lui interdisait de le faire.

Ce qu’a une nouvelle fois affirmé, ce 11 mars, Mikhaïl Oulianov, un responsable du ministère russe des Affaires étrangères. « La Russie a bien sûr le droit de déployer des armes nucléaires dans n’importe quelle région de son territoire, si elle le juge nécessaire. Je ne sais pas s’il y a des armes nucléaires en Crimée, ni s’il est prévu d’en déployer, mais nous considérons que nous avons le droit de le faire. Kiev est sans doute d’un avis opposé », a-t-il déclaré, lors d’une conférence de presse.

Rédacteur en chef du journal « Défense nationale », proche du Kremlin, Igor Korotchenko a évoqué cette hypothèse, d’après le Journal du Dimanche. « Si l’Otan crée une base de défense antimissiles en Roumanie ou si la présence de vaisseaux militaires américains en mer Noire se fait permanente, il est évident que nous réagirons. Le déploiement d’armes nucléaires tactiques en Crimée est une réponse possible », a-t-il estimé.

Or, il se trouve que des missiles intercepteurs du bouclier antimissile seront installés à Deveselu, en Roumanie et que des navires de l’Otan naviguent régulièrement dans les eaux de la mer Noire, notamment pour participer à des exercices avec les forces navales des pays riverains, par ailleurs membres de l’Alliance atlantique. C’est d’ailleurs actuellement le cas, avec le Standing NRF Maritime Group 2 (SNMG-2), composé du croiseur USS Vicksburg, des frégates HMCS Fredericton (Canada), TCG Turgutreis (Turquie), ITS Aliseo (Italie) et RNS Regina Maria ainsi que du ravitailleur allemand FGS Spessart.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Mykoyan MiG-31 Foxhound supersonic interceptor aircraft will stay in service with the Russian Air Force until 2026, the head of the MiG corporation said Wednesday.

"The MiG corporation is currently developing heavy fighter-interceptor aircraft to replace the MiG-31, but the MiG-31 will remain in service until 2026," Sergei Korotkov told RIA Novosti.

According to the Defense Ministry, the Russian Air Force has over 120 MiG-31 interceptors in service and more aircraft in reserve.

The MiG-31, the fastest fighter-interceptor in service anywhere in the world, has been the subject of a comprehensive upgrade to MiG-31BM standard.

The upgraded MiG-31 aircraft is able to perform all tasks within a radius of 4,000 kilometers (2,500 miles), Korotkov said.

The MiG-31 is a long-range supersonic interceptor jet. The two-seater aircraft can intercept targets up to 200 kilometers (124 miles) away thanks to its advanced radar and long-range missiles. It can operate efficiently in all weather conditions and is equipped with state-of-the-art digital avionics.

The MiG-31 was first used in the Soviet Air Force in 1981. Production of the aircraft ended in 1994 but it remains in service in the Russian and Kazakh air forces.

Russian Northern Fleet on Full Alert for Combat Readiness Drills


President Vladimir Putin has ordered the Russian Navy’s Northern Fleet and paratrooper units to go on full alert as part of snap military exercises in the Arctic, RIA news agency quoted the defence minister as saying on Monday. Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, who is overseeing an expensive modernisation of the armed forces, said Russia faced new threats to its security which obliged it to boost its military strength and capabilities.



“New challenges and threats to military security require the armed forces to further boost their military capabilities. Special attention must be paid to strategic formations in the North,” state-run RIA quoted Shoigu as saying. The exercises will be held on land, in sea and air and will run for five days beginning March 16, the general said.

The Northern Fleet was brought to alert at 8:00 a.m. Moscow time (05:00 GMT) and includes 38,000 military personnel, 3,360 pieces of equipment, 41 ships, 15 submarines, and 110 airplanes and helicopters, Shoigu added.

Tensions between Russia and the West have reached their worst level since the Cold War over the crisis in Ukraine.

Moscow has boosted its ambitions in the resource-rich Arctic region, where it shares a border with NATO member Norway, and the military is looking to boost its capabilities in the region.

One marine infantry brigade and one land-based anti-ship missile battery complete the Northern fleet inventory.

La nouvelle patrouille russe sur Yak-130 s’entraine !



Voronej, la toute nouvelle patrouille acrobatique de l’aviation russe « Krylia Tavridy » (Ailes de la Tauride) s'entraîne à voler en formation à bord d'avions Yakovlev Yak-130 à Borissoglebsk, dans la région de Voronej, a annoncé mardi le ministère russe de la Défense.

Le groupe de voltige aérienne composé d’avions d'entraînement Yak-130 « Krylia Tavridy » est actuellement doté de quatre avions, ensuite le nombre d'appareils sera porté à six. Cette nouvelle patrouille aérienne est lié à l'histoire de la Russie et de la Crimée.

La « Tauride » est le nom donné par les Grecs anciens à la presqu'île de Crimée. La Crimée est un nom plus récent de la région, qui provient de la langue tatare de Crimée. Sous l'Empire russe, la Crimée a constitué le gouvernement de Tauride (1802 à 1921).

La patrouille « Krylia Tavridy » est basée au centre de formation des pilotes Tchkalov de Borissoglebsk (région de Voronej).


Une livrée rouge ?

Officiellement, on ne connait pas encore le type de livrée que porte la patrouille « Krylia Tavridy ». Mais une photo prise par un photographe russe « Aleksei » (voir photo du haut) semble démontré que le rouge et le blanc ont été choisi. Reste à confirmer !

Nul doute, que cette nouvelle patrouille aura pour but de représenter le nouvel appareil du constructeur Yakovlev, afin d’offrir une vitrine de qualité pour d’éventuels futurs clients. Cette patrouille complétera les deux actuels, soit les «Russian Knights» (Chevaliers russes) qui évoluent sur six Sukhoi Su-27 «Flanker» et les six  MiG-29 «Fulcrum» des «Strizhi» (Martinets).


Le Yakovlov Yak-130 :

Développé par le bureau d'études Yakovlev, le yak-130 permet de perfectionner les compétences des pilotes d'avions russes et étrangers de 5e génération. Il s'agit d'un avion universel d'entraînement et de combat qui peut être utilisé comme chasseur léger. Le programme russe d'armement prévoit l'acquisition de 65 avions de ce type pour l'Armée de l'air nationale à l'horizon 2020.

Le premier vol du Yak-130 a eu lieu en 1996 et il fut officiellement retenu par la force aérienne russe en 2002.  Initialement, il devait être développé et produit en coopération avec la firme italienne Aermacchi, mais suite aux nombreuses différences de points de vue, chacune des deux parties continua de son propre chef, d’où l’extrême ressemblance entre le Yak-130 et le M-346.

Le Yak-130 a subi une longue phase d’essais de 2005 à 2009 impliquant trois appareils. Les Yak-130 sortent de deux chaînes de production, l’une à Nizhny Novgorod et l’autre se situe à Irkutsk. La première commande export est venue de l’Algérie avec 16 appareils, dont les pilotes ont déjà commencé la transition.

Le Yak-130 est un avion très maniable subsonique avec un rayon d’action de 1.250 miles (2.000 kilomètres) et une vitesse maximale de 600mp/h (1.060 k /h) en vol en palier. Il peut transporter une charge utile de combat d'un maximum de £ 6.600 (3.000 kg), composé d'une variété d'armes russes et occidentaux.  Le Yak-130 peut être utilisé à partir de pistes non goudronnées et de petits aérodromes non préparées. L'appareil dispose d'un cockpit en tandem climatisé et pressurisé équipé de sièges éjectables NPO Zvezda K-36LT3.5  de type zéro-zéro (zéro altitude, zéro vitesse). Les pilotes ont une vue à travers une verrière thermoformée.

Le Yak-130 de production est le premier avion russe avec une suite avionique entièrement  numérique. Comme avion d'entraînement avancé, Yak-130 est adapté pour la formation des pilotes ou le recyclage pour permettre de transiter sur des appareils de quatrième et cinquième générations.

Russia deploys Su-34s to Kaliningrad in snap drill

Russia says it has deployed ten Su-27 and Su-34 fighters to the Baltic enclave of Kaliningrad on Mar. 18.



The Defense Ministry stated that about 10 Russian Sukhoi Su-34 and Sukhoi Su-27 multipurpose fighters have been moved to the country's Kaliningrad Region as a part of the Northern Fleet snap drills.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – About 10 Russian Sukhoi Su-34 (Fullback) strike fighters and Russian modernized Sukhoi Su-27 (Flanker) multirole fighters have been relocated to the country's Kaliningrad Region to conduct bombing drills, the Defense Ministry said.

"After the relocation the crews of the multipurpose Su-34 aircraft are to conduct bombing of ground targets at an unknown firing field in the Kaliningrad Region," the ministry said in a statement.

The exercise is part of Russian Northern Fleet snap drills that will last until March 21 and include land, sea and air activities.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to bring the country's Northern Fleet to full alert in a snap combat readiness exercise on March 16. The drills involve 38,000 military personnel, 3,360 pieces of equipment, 41 ships, 15 submarines, and 110 airplanes and helicopters.

The main goal of the current snap drills is to assess combat readiness of Russian forces deployed in the Arctic region, according to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

The submarine, dubbed the Arkhangelsk, was designed by the St. Petersburg-based Malakhit company with the employment of novel technical decisions, the press service said. The first Yasen-class submarine, the Severodvinsk, was built at Sevmash and handed to the Russian Armed Forces in June 2014.

"Multipurpose nuclear-powered submarines - Kazan, Novosibirsk and Krasonyarsk - are under construction at the Severodvinsk shipyard in the framework of the upgraded Yasen-M project. The changes are connected with the element base of the electronic weapons system, modernized equipment and materials, which will be supplied exclusively by Russian produces," the press service noted.
According to Russia’s naval doctrine, Yasen-class subs will become the main multipurpose nuclear-powered submarines in the Russian military. Sevmash will build eight Yasen-class subs with cruise missiles by 2020.
The Russian Navy announced that they intend to buy at least 10 of these fourth-generation multirole attack nuclear-powered submarine to gradualy replace both Oscar and Akula submarines.

Le « Sébastopol » de retour à Saint-Nazaire

Le bâtiment de projection et de commandement Sébastopol, parti faire ses premiers essais en mer le lundi 16 mars au large de Belle-Île, a regagné le port de Saint-Nazaire ce vendredi 20 mars, à 16 h 30. À son bord, se trouvaient quelque 200  salariés de STX France et DCNS, ainsi que des sous-traitants qui participent à la construction, mais pas de représentant russe.

Le Sébastopol est le second porte-hélicoptères de type Mistral commandé par la marine russe à DCNS et construit par STX France ; il est en cours d’achèvement dans le bassin de Penhoët. Sur le papier, il est livrable en octobre 2015, mais la livraison du premier navire étant suspendue par la France en raison du confit russo-ukrainien, il flotte un parfum d’incertitude quant au sort des deux bâtiments militaires.

Les messages envoyés récemment par la Russie et la France semblent montrer un réchauffement des relations diplomatiques. En début de semaine, le directeur du Service fédéral russe pour la coopération technico-militaire (FSMTC), Alexander Fomin, annonçait qu’il n’était pas actuellement envisagé de sanctions contre la France pour la non-livraison du premier BPC Mistral. Les autorités russes laissaient même entendre qu’une annulation de contrat motivée par la France pouvait être possible, avec le remboursement du milliard d’euros déjà payé par la Russie.

De son côté, François Hollande, dans une interview parue ce vendredi dans le nouveau magazine Society, insiste sur le fait qu’il considère « la Russie comme un pays ami qu’il respecte ». À suivre…

The Russian Defense Ministry expects that Ka-52K helicopter project will be a success, the deputy minister noted. In 2015, the ministry will receive 16 Ka-52 multi-purpose attack helicopters, Borisov added.
Earlier, director of the Progress Arsenyev Aviation Company Yury Derisenko told the media that the company’s long-term contract with Russia’s Defense Ministry envisages the delivery of 146 Ka-52 helicopters to the Armed Forces by 2020.

The Russian military will receive 16 new Kamov Ka-52 attack helicopters this year as part of Russia's ongoing rearmament effort, Deputy Defense Minister Yury Borisov said Monday.

Visiting the factory where the helicopters are built, Borisov said that "beginning in April they will start being accepted into the military and delivered to the troops," according to news agency TASS.

The Ka-52 Alligator (NATO reporting name: Hokum-A) is Russia's newest attack helicopter, having only gone into service with the military in 2011.

The helicopters are adept at close air support for ground troops, and the navy selected them to outfit two Mistral-class helicopter carriers ordered from France in 2011. However, Paris froze delivery of the ships last year due to Russia's alleged support of rebels in Ukraine.

According to Borisov, the Defense Ministry is working closely with the Ka-52's manufacturer, Progress, to ensure deliveries take place throughout 2015, rather than having the entire stock of 16 choppers simply "dumped at the end of the year" into the military's hands.

The 16 helicopters are part of a larger contract for the delivery of 146 Ka-52 helicopters to the Russian military by 2020, when the state's massive 20 trillion ruble ($325 billion) rearmament program wraps up.

Russian Defense Ministry Wants 100 'Arctic Terminator' Helicopters



The Defense Ministry wants up to 100 Mi-8 "Terminator" helicopters specially modified for service under the recently formed Arctic Command, Deputy Defense Minister Yury Borisov was quoted by news agency TASS as saying Tuesday.

The order size may depend on how well five test helicopters perform in trials. "Today we have the first helicopter [on the shop floor]...we'll see how it handles," Borisov said. Flight tests for the Arctic Terminator will begin later this year, TASS reported.

The armored assault transport helicopter is but one of a number of specialized vehicles the military hopes to procure for its Arctic forces, which Russia has been steadily building up since last year.



The Arctic's uniquely inhospitable conditions require vehicles, helicopters in particular, to be modified to operate in up to -50 degrees celsius, with strong winds and other extreme weather conditions.

Sur YouTube a première vidéo, qui montre une lourde machine de combat de l'infanterie, construite sur la base de chenilles de plate-forme de l ' «Armata». La nouvelle machine de combat a été repéré à nizhny Tagil. La première démonstration de la prospective BMP prévu au Défilé de la Victoire le 9 mai 2015.

Prometteur lourde BMP, récompensée par l'armée de l'indice T-15, est construit sur la même base que le char T-14 Armata. Visibles sur la vidéo caractéristiques de la machine permettent de dire que le moteur de BMP déplacé dans le nez de l', et le module de combat, ainsi que sur le réservoir, est inhabitée.
