| je vous invite à discuter plus amplement sur le radar qui équipera nos futurs mirage F1M ,qui en plus des MICA et la légérté du F1 ,dotera nos chasseurs de capacités air-air redoutables Description: The Thales RDY-3 is a cost-effective, day/night, all-weather, airborne multi-role fire control radar delivering long-range targeting and firing and simultaneous multi-shoot capabilities. It features low false alarm rate, advanced ECCM, COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) components, ease of maintenance and low life cycle cost. The DRY-3 radar modular architecture consists of four line replaceable units (LRUs): antenna unit, processing unit, transmitter, and exciter/receiver. Its built-in functions include target simulation, training and maintenance backed up by a radar test bench. The RDY-3 radar is available with different antenna sizes for modernization of light and medium multi-role fighters such as the Mirage V, Mirage F1, Mirage 2000, Mig-29 and LCA/Tejas. The RDY-3 provides air-to-air mode has been designed for reduced pilot workload delivering search domain management and highest priority targets ranking and sorting with better situational awareness. The radar also supports multiple simultaneous aerial targets tracking and shooting, IFF interrogator, and look-up and look-down detection. The air-to-surface mode encompasses navigation, surveillance, target acquisition and very low altitude penetration with enhanced terrain avoidance. The RDY-3 radar also provides high resolution SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imagery and moving target indication (MTI) and tracking. In the air-to-sea mode, the RDY-3 radar can engage multiple targets simultaneously, target's RCS (Radar Cross Section) assessment and, optionally, deliver ISAR (Inverse SAR) imagery. https://www1.online.thalesgroup.com/col/Airborne/pdf/products/rdy3-product-brochure-june2006.pdf YKZ:URL editée --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

| une petite correction c'est le RDY-3 mais le RC-400 qui en est un dérivé - Citation :
- Description
The Radar Compact (RC) RC 400 is a modular, lightweight, compact, multimission radar. The radar has been designed for a wide range of fighters and advanced training aircraft. RC 400 technology is derived from the RDY-2 radar (see separate entry), which equips the Mirage 2000-5. The baseline architecture comprises four Line-Replaceable Units (LRUs): a monopulse flat slotted array antenna equipped with IFF dipoles, a 2-channel, wide dynamic range exciter/receiver, an 8-12 GHz transmitter unit and a fully programmable signal and data processing unit. This configuration can be reconfigured as required to fit the nose of most aircraft types and only requires non-filtered air-cooling. Several antenna options are available, based on a low inertia, flat slotted-plate design, with very low side lobes. The RC 400 design features track-while-scan, smart automatic management of scanning and target prioritisation. This provides accurate, multiple fire-and-forget capability, together with datalink requirements for missile control. The radar utilises high-, medium- and low-PRFs to optimise performance in all Beyond Visual Range (BVR) interception missions, as well as combat phases of operation. Within a given mode, the PRF is automatically managed from bar to bar, with respect to attack geometry. The RC 400 offers the following operational capabilities:Air-to-air: all-aspect look up/look down detection; automatic management of low-, medium- and high-PRFs; TWS automatic lock-on; simultaneous multitarget engagements; IFFAir-to-ground: improved ground mapping with azimuth beam compression; Doppler beam sharpening; ranging; optional SAR high-resolution mapping; contour mapping for low-altitude penetration; surface MTI and TWS trackAir-to-sea: track-while-scan on two targets; sea target calibration.

| Indian Air Force, Thales, Dassault Rushing Mirage Fighter Upgrade Negotiations Dated 7/11/2008 The Indian air force appears eager to conclude negotiations with Thales and Dassault Aviation on the offset package for the upgrade of India's 51 Mirage 2000s to the 2000-5 standard (M-2000H/TH upgrade), according to executives here. It is likely that the contract will be signed before India's general elections in early 2009. But if it's delayed, there is concern there could be a delay of at least two years and an escalation in costs. Thales is not willing to disclose the value of the contract, expected to finish price negotiations by mid-November. A military official says the aircraft fleet is running dangerously low, under 29 squadrons -- 10 less than the minimum required. The new capabilities include longer-range detection and weapon firing against multiple targets and an extended operating envelope that will allow a border-protection mission, for instance, with two upgraded Mirages instead of the current six, according to Thales. Once the order is given, within 40 months Thales has committed to retrofitting two aircraft of the first phase in the initial operational configuration, which includes French equipment. Another two will be retrofitted in Bangalore along with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL). The remaining 47 will be assembled in India. "The project is part of a broader strategic partnership between France and India to be implemented under a government-to-government agreement," says Pierre-Yves Chaltiel, senior vice president for Thales aerospace government programs. "We'll give India a good level of autonomy," says Gerard Christmann, Thales vice president and general manager of electronic combat solutions in the aerospace division. The Indian air force and HAL soon will discuss the second phase to organize rotation of the Mirage fleet to maintain some aircraft. Efforts include integration of indigenous equipment, including the Israeli Litening pod that India is not purchasing from Thales. Thales, which has been successful in making its industrial imprint in India with 350 employees in six locations, says it is exploring cooperation with Indian companies on the technical side of new equipment for missile seekers, as well as radar technology. The multitrack RDY-3 radar being equipped in the Mirage is the same generation the French air force is equipping on its M-2000D(???), with an increased range from 40 to 50 nautical miles compared with the existing Radar Doppler Multifunction system www.india-defence.com/reports-4073 |
