Falcon Air Meet 2007

This year Falcon Air Meet made in Azraq Air Base / Jordan. The meeting is especialy for F-16 Fighting Falcon planes and pilots. Members of the organization is Turkey, Jordan, USA, Belgium, Italy, Holland, Egypt and so on who has F-16 planes. There is competitions about shooting skills, loading ammunition speed against of time, cleaness of planes and so on. Anyway this photos from Turkish squad who competited there.

Submarines from France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States, under the control of NATO Submarine Command (COMSUBNATO), will join 5 surface ships from France, Germany, Italy, Turkey and the United States under the command of Standing NATO Maritime Group TWO (SNMG-2) Rear Admiral Jörg Klein (German Navy). Host nation Italy is providing support from both the Augusta Naval Base and the Sigonella Air Base in Catania. To support the simulated multi-threat environment, 7 Maritime Patrol Aircraft and Helicopters from Canada, France, Italy, Turkey and the United States will operate from Sigonella Air Base under the control of personnel from NATO Maritime Air Command (COMMARAIRNATO).

Armée française - opérations militaires OPEX (page officielle)

Corymbe - La frégate de surveillance Germinal a piloté la 3ème édition 2015 de l’exercice NEMO (Navy Exercise for Maritime Operations) du 13 au 15 sept. 2015.

Le principal objectif de cet exercice multinational est d’entraîner les marines riveraines à la sécurisation du golfe de Guinée. Pour cette édition, les marines camerounaises et gabonaises ont travaillé de concert avec la frégate française.

Avoir le même avion ne suffit pas. Il faut apprendre à travailler ensemble ! L'armée de l'Air espagnole annonce que pour la première fois, les utilisateurs européens du chasseur Eurofighter EF-2000 Typhoon se sont retrouvés pour un exercice visant à développer leur intéropérabilité.

L'exercice baptisé Volcanex s'est déroulé du 14 au 18 septembre 2015 sur la base d'Albacete dans le cadre de l'ETIP. Un programme qui a été lancé par l'EAG (European Air Group, institution européenne indépendante de l'OTAN ou de l'Union européenne). L'objectif est d'atteindre un certain degrès de standardisation dans les procédures de mise en oeuvre et d'entretien du Typhoon.

L'Italie et le Royaume Uni avaient envoyé des appareils qui ont effectué 27 sorties en compagnie des avions espagnols. L'Allemagne n'avait envoyé que du personnel au sol. Pilotes et mécaniciens européens du Typhoon ont collaboré ensemble sur différents exercices sous la supervision de l'EAG. Les utilisateurs de l'Eurofighter ont pu ainsi partager leur expérience de mise en oeuvre du chasseur européen.

Si le Royaume-Uni, l'Allemagne, l'Italie et l'Espagne ont commandé un total de 472 Typhoon, tous ces appareils ne sont pas identiques puisqu'il y a des appareils des Tranche 1, 2 et 3A en service.

Alerte santé pour Trident juncture 2015

(B2) Plus de 30.000 militaires de 30 nations prendront part à l’exercice « Trident Juncture 2015 » dont l’objectif est de certifier la Force de Haute disponibilité de l’OTAN (VJTF). La première phase, le Command Post Exercice, se déroulera du 3 au 16 octobre. L’exercice réel (Live Exercise) débutera le prochain 21 octobre, sur le camp d’exercice de Zaragoza (Espagne). L’exercice simulera un conflit entre les pays de la Corne de l’Afrique où s’imbriquent des conflits ethniques, des crises de réfugiés, les conflits sur les ressources en eau et l’émergence d’une alerte de Santé type « Ebola ». Malgré des noms de pays fictifs (Kamon, Lakuta et Tytan), les plans utilisés pour l’exercice seront réels, avec une attention spéciale portée à l’Ethiopie et le Soudan du Sud.

As the UK prepares to mark 200 years of close ties with Bahrain next year, the Defence Secretary Michael Fallon has travelled to the country to visit a Royal Marine exercise and to reinforce UK commitment to the wider region.

Exercise Pearl Dagger will deliver infantry and amphibious training to the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), developing greater interoperability with the Royal Marines. It comes at a time when stability in the Middle East is key to the region’s security but also for the safety of the UK. The exercise, involving 104 UK Royal Marines, 81 Royal Bahraini Naval Force Royal Marines and 23 Bahraini National Guard, will allow both country’s militaries to work more closely together in the future to tackle any joint challenges the nations may face. Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Cardigan Bay is due to take part alongside a number of other landing craft and amphibious vessels.

This exercise is just one of a number of capability building activities across a range of areas with Bahraini allies. Mr Fallon went on to visit British Short Term Training Teams (STTT) delivering instruction to the BDF and the Bahrain Ministry for Interior.

Bahrain is a key UK ally in the Gulf region, reflected in the agreement last year to improve facilities at the Bahrain Defence force Mina Salman port. The expansion of Britain’s footprint in Bahrain builds on a 40-year track record of Gulf patrols and is just one example of the UK’s growing partnerships with the Gulf states to tackle regional threats.

Mr Fallon said:

“What happens in the Gulf region has a direct impact on the national security of the United Kingdom, our prosperity and the safety of our citizens. It is vital that we work with close allies like Bahrain to tackle regional threats such as that posed by ISIL.”

Michael Fallon also met with the King of Bahrain His Majesty Shaikh Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa where he expressed his thanks on progress to improve port facilities which host UK ships and Royal Navy personnel, dedicated to protecting UK interests and those of the wider international community. In addition Mr Fallon also met with the BDF Commander in Chief His Highness Field Marshall Shaik Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa to thank Bahrain for the continued support the United Kingdom’s Maritime Component Command.

Les manœuvres Trident Juncture-2015, qui impliquent 36.000 militaires d'une trentaine de pays dont l'Ukraine, se poursuivront jusqu'au 6 novembre.

Les exercices se dérouleront sur le territoire de l'Italie, de l'Espagne et du Portugal avec la participation des forces terrestres et aériennes et des unités spéciales des pays membres de l'Alliance ainsi que de leurs partenaires. Des manœuvres navales sont également programmées en Atlantique et en Méditerranée.

L’Otan ne renonce pas au dialogue avec la Russie
Le scénario des exercices reflète les réalités de la guerre moderne: antimissiles, résistance aux attaques informatiques et aux opérations de propagande. Le programme des manœuvres prévoit notamment la lutte contre des ennemis "fictifs comme réels" sur les réseaux sociaux.

Au total 200 avions et 50 navires militaires prendront part aux exercices.

Fin août, le commandant suprême allié pour la transformation de l'Otan Jean-Paul Paloméros a souligné que les manœuvres Trident Juncture étaient programmées depuis 2 ans et demi et ainsi n'étaient pas liées à la crise en cours en Ukraine et à l'aggravation des relations entre l'Alliance et Moscou.

Djibouti: Marines et chasseurs à l'Ecole du désert




L'exercice Ouerka 2015 a pris fin mercredi, au Centre d’entrainement au combat et d’aguerrissement au désert (CECAD). Conçu et conduit par le 5e régiment interarmes d’Outre-mer de Djibouti, il avait débuté le 21 septembre avec la mise en place d'une Base Avancée Temporaire Désert (photo ci-dessus Adj Veron).

Ce type d’exercice, reconduit tous les quatre mois, vise à entrainer les unités au combat interarmes en zone désertique, dans un contexte interarmées et interalliés.



Outre un sous-groupement tactique interarmes français, articulé autour de l’escadron blindé du 4e Régiment de Chasseurs, près de 160 Marines de la 15th Marine Expeditionnary Unit de l'US Marine Corps ont également participé à cet exercice, soit plus de 300 soldats équipés d'AMX10 RCR, de mortiers de 120 mm et de LAV 25.

Petite innovation: l'intégration à l'exercice de l’équivalent d’un SGAM franco-américain (Puma, Gazelle, Huey et Cobra) apportant une capacité aéroterrestre (photo ci-dessous d'un tir de Hot par une Gazelle CC Roux).



Enfin, l’intégration d’un élément des forces spéciales françaises a permis de travailler la coordination avec les forces conventionnelles.

A U.S. Navy P-3C Orion from Patrol Squadron (VP) 9 arrived in Constanta, Romania Oct. 11 to participate in a three-day anti-submarine warfare exchange with the Romanian Navy.

U.S. and Romanian Sailors will discuss and practice ASW tactics, techniques, and procedures in in order to enhance interoperability and combined capability to ensure security, access and stability in Black Sea.

Malabar 2015 Kicks Off With Air Defense Exercise

BAY OF BENGAL - Naval forces from India, Japan and the United States kicked off exercise Malabar 2015, Oct. 16, with an air defense exercise (ADEX).

The ADEX featured collaboration with the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), Carrier Airwing (CVW) 1, the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60) and the Indian frigate INS Shivalik (F 47).

Exercise Malabar is an annual event designed to enhance naval cooperation through engagement with India and Japan while demonstrating U.S. naval presence in the Indo-Asia-Pacific.

“We launched aircraft from TR to simulate scenarios to exercise the Indian’s self-defense,” said Lt. Sean McDonnell, Normandy’s air defense officer. “The ADEX supports the overall Malabar exercise by sharing how we control aircraft and learning how the Indian Navy controls their aircraft. We’re up on the same voice circuit so it’s a nice opportunity to collaborate and compare and contrast our procedures. We’ve sent liaison officers to the Indian vessels and welcomed their officers aboard our vessels as well to observe and learn.”

McDonnell embarked TR as a liaison officer to the Normandy to help facilitate the coordination of the exercise.

“My captain’s responsibility is air defense of the strike group,” he said. “He sent me here to be his voice. I pass along the word from the strike group to help coordinate between the needs of the strike group and that of my commanding officer.”

Capt. Scott Robertson, Normandy’s commanding officer, welcomed liaison officers from both Malabar partners aboard and was pleased with the collaboration so far.

“I’ve been very impressed by the professionalism and maritime skill of our Indian and Japanese navy partners, and the Normandy crew is enjoying this unique opportunity,” said Robertson. “The ADEX kicked off a great first underway day for the Malabar exercise. The purpose of this particular ADEX was to build familiarity and appreciation for the capabilities each of the participating navies brings to the modern air defense environment with a special emphasis on control of fighter aircraft.”

The exercise provided a unique opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the Indian Navy while the two partners shared communication channels to learn from one another. “We stood by as overall observers to manage the exercise if you will, and ensure that the exercise ran as smoothly as possible,” said Normandy’s Senior Chief Fire Controlman Jeremiah Lawrence. “It was a passive event for us but we learned a lot about the willingness to learn from our partner nations and they performed excellently under the guidance of the tasking at hand.”

Planning for the exercise began long before any of the partners embarked aboard each other’s’ vessels. Lt. Cmdr. Erin Ceschini, Carrier Strike Group 12’s future plans and staff meteorological and oceanographic officer, began coordinating the event in July via video teleconferencing.

“We’ve got a lot of different events planned,” said Ceschini, “We have air defense exercises, search and rescue, anti-submarine warfare events with Indian and U.S. submarines, along with a dry hook up with an Indian oiler and a war-at-sea exercise.”

Malabar 2015 includes collaboration between TR, Normandy, the Freedom-class littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth (LCS 3), the Los Angeles-class submarine USS City of Corpus Christi (SSN 705), the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Akizuki-class destroyer JS Fuyuzuki (DD 118), the Indian Navy Deepak-class fleet tanker INS Shakti (A 57), the Brahmaputra-class guided missile frigate INS Betwa (F 39), the Rajput-class destroyer INS Ravijay (D 55), the Sindhughosh-class diesel-electric submarine INS Sindhuraj (S 57) and INS Shivalik.

“This exercise is a big deal to the Indian, Japanese and U.S. navies,” said Ceschini. “We are three democratic countries that are working together to strengthen our military relationships as well as the relationships between our nations. The success of these exercises is important especially considering the effort, planning and resources put into this exercise for these great navies to work together.”

Malabar is a continuing series of complex, high-end war fighting exercises conducted to advance multi-national maritime relationships and mutual security. Theodore Roosevelt is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations as part of a worldwide deployment en route to its new homeport in San Diego to complete a three-carrier homeport shift.

Corsican evacuation tests Anglo-French Task Group

A dozen helicopters and 250 Royal Marines helped evacuate people from a ‘war-torn’ Mediterranean island – a major test of the British and French military to work side-by-side.

For the past week, more than 2,000 British and French sailors, soldiers, airmen and marines have been engaged on Exercise Corsican Lion, played out on and off the north and south coasts of the island.

A force of four ships – three British, one French – used their helicopters and landing craft to evacuate civilians to safety in a mock humanitarian crisis.

The exercise is the latest test of the two nations’ armed forces as they work to create a Combined Joint Expeditionary Force, an amphibious task group which the British and French military can form to respond to international crises, dealing with anything from conflict to humanitarian missions.

The force – UK flagship and helicopter carrier HMS Ocean, amphibious assault ship HMS Bulwark, ro-ro military ferry Hartland Point, and French assault ship FS Dixmude – spent three days training off the northern Corsican coast, before shifting to the island’s southern shores for the active phase of the exercise.

At dawn on Sunday, 130 Royal Marines from 45 Commando were airlifted ashore in waves from the Dixmude – British Apache gunships, Chinook and Wildcat helicopters were among those supporting the effort – so they could secure the evacuation site where 40 British and French sailors playing the part of evacuees were waiting to be saved. With the perimeter secure, the ‘civilians’ were brought back to Dixmude and Bulwark by helicopter and landing craft.

Aboard Bulwark they were received by a well-honed team offering food, water, clean clothes and medical assistance, exactly as the ship did in the spring when she rescued thousands of migrants in the Mediterranean.

It’s the second time Corsica has played host to the Anglo-French exercise; this year’s run out was also the first major work-out for the RN’s amphibious task group on its annual Cougar deployment.

“Exercises like this are vital to practise working and learning from close allies such as France,” said Commodore Martin Connell, the task group’s commander.

“The chance to work with our French counterparts has been a highlight of our Cougar 2015 deployment and we look forward to taking our partnership to the next level when we re-group for an even larger exercise called Griffin Strike next year.”

The task group is presently scheduled to return to Devonport in the middle of December.

Exercice intensif et collaboration multinationale



Lors des patrouilles sur la voie publique, Belges et Lituaniens travaillent côte à côte.


Avec l’aide de militaires, des enfants grimpent sur des véhicules blindés Piranha du Bataillon Libération – 5e de Ligne dans le petit village lituanien d’Upninkai. Ce 17 octobre, les Belges y présentent leurs divers véhicules ainsi que le matériel impliqués dans l’exercice Baltic Piranha : un entraînement OTAN se déroulant en octobre de l’ouest à l’est de ce pays balte.

« Pour signifier notre présence et faire connaissance avec la population locale, nous présentons notre matériel dans différents villages » explique un militaire belge tandis qu’il prête des lunettes de vision nocturne à un jeune lituanien. « C’est très sympa de rencontrer la population locale mais c’est également positif pour la perception que les citoyens ont de nous. Car nous nous entraînons dans leurs villages et sur leurs routes. »

Le jeune lituanien qui tient les lunettes de vision nocturne voit d’une façon positive l’initiative des militaires belges. « Je m’y connais peu en matériel militaire », dit-il « mais c’est chouette de s’y intéresser et de parler avec les soldats. C’est un plus pour notre sécurité qu’ils soient venus s’entraîner ici. »

Sur un terrain industriel abandonné, la dizaine de véhicules blindés belges participent à la dernière nouveauté de la Composante Terre : la Combined Arms Task Group (CATG). Ce groupe de combat est tout sauf une action nationale isolée. Il intègre, en effet, un peloton lituanien et des militaires luxembourgeois. Par ailleurs, les soldats lituaniens du service de collaboration civile et militaire aident à répondre aux demandes de la population lors d’actions sur la voie publique.

« La coopération entre les différentes nationalités se déroulent sans grands problèmes » explique le lieutenant-colonel Gert van Goethem, chef de corps du Bataillon Libération – 5e de Ligne. « Nos militaires peuvent aussi compter sur l’armée américaine. Elle épaule nos troupes à l’aide de ses hélicoptères Black Hawk et Apache. De plus, les contacts avec la population locale apportent une plus-value à nos actions. »

Du début à la fin de son déroulement, l’exercice Baltic Piranha intègre donc des éléments internationaux : la recette idéale à un entraînement intensif.

U.S. and Portuguese Marines execute an amphibious landing in Pinheiro Da Cruz, Portugal

U.S. Navy hovercraft came from the USS Arlington around 100 kilometers (60 miles) south of the Portuguese capital Lisbon, generating clouds of spray and noise as they delivered U.S. and Portuguese Marines and armored vehicles to the beach while U.S. Navy helicopters flew overhead.

In the imagined scenario, NATO was projecting force to help a friendly country that requested help to re-establish order.
