Azerbaijan is interested in some Turkey-produced armored vehicles and Altay main battle tank. According to information obtained by Azerbaijan Press Agency at IDEF-2013, the issue on including Turkey-produced armored vehicles produced in the armament of Azerbaijani Army.

Altay main battle tank was welcomed by the Azerbaijani delegation. The two prototypes of the tank have already been designed. The Azerbaijani delegation was also interested in 8x8 wheeled armored vehicle Arma produced by Otokar company and infantry fighting vehicle Tulpar. According to the company representatives, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev gave his recommendations on the vehicles.

The Azerbaijani delegation expressed its interest in 6x6 wheeled armoured personnel carrier Ejder ("Dragon") produced by Nurol company, figtning vehicle Kaplan produced by FNSS company, fortified vehicles and anti-mine vehicle Kangal exhibitied by Katmerciler company for the first time.

It was also noted that artillery rocket system ordered within the agreement signed with ROKESTAN company will be started to deliver to Azerbaijan in the near future.

Aeronautics strengthening Israel-Azerbaijan links
Aeronautics Defense Systems, the Israeli unmanned air systems manufacturer, is delivering its Aerostar UAS to Azerbaijan and plans to transfer more production to its local company, Azad Systems, which was established in 2011 as a joint venture between the defence ministry of Azerbaijan and Aeronautics.

In recent years, Israel has become a major arms supplier to Azerbaijan. Deals so far have included artillery systems, communications equipment and different types of UAS including the Aerostar and Orbiter, also developed by Aeronautics.


According to Aeronautics chief executive Sami Totah, production of more composite fuselage parts will be transferred to Azad. The goal is to enable the plant to be capable of performing final assembly of Aeronautics UAS that have already been contracted, as well as others that may be bought.

The Aerostar has a 230kg (507lb) maximum take-off weight and an endurance of 12h. Aeronautics is working to extend it to 15h.

L'Azerbaïdjan lancera prochainement la production de missiles conjointement avec la compagnie turque Roketsan, annonce lundi l'agence APA, se référant à un communiqué publié par Roketsan.
"Dans le cadre de l'accord signé le 8 mai à Istanbul, l'Azerbaïdjan produira des missiles de 107 et 122 millimètres. Roketsan n'étant chargée que de livrer les propulseurs des missiles, tous leurs composants ainsi que leur assemblage seront réalisés par la partie azerbaïdjanaise", indique le communiqué.
La portée des missiles de 122 millimètres sera de 42 kilomètres (deux fois supérieure à celle des missiles russes Grad), alors que la portée de missiles de 107 millimètres sera de 11 kilomètres, soit quatre kilomètres de plus que les missiles analogues fabriqués par la Russie et l'Ukraine.

Selon des sources militaires de l'APA, les missiles surface-air, chars, drones et systèmes d'artillerie sont parmi les véhicules militaires qui seront démontrés pour la première fois.
 
Les nouveaux équipements et systèmes, qui seront présentés lors de la parade:
 
Le principal char de combat T-90. Acheté de la Russie en 2011. La production en série de la T-90 a commencé en 1992, et la production de modification T-90S - en 2001.
 
Les missiles anti-aériens 9K330 « Tor ». Le complexe de production «Tor» a été accepté dans l’armement de l’Azerbaïdjan en 1986. Il est considéré comme l'un des systèmes de défense aérienne les plus avancés dans l'ex-Union soviétique. Il est rapporté que l'Azerbaïdjan a acheté ce complexe de l’Ukraine. 9K330 « Tor » prévoit l'organisation de l'air et la défense antimissile. Le complexe est conçu pour protéger les installations administratives, économiques et militaires importantes de l'anti-radar et des missiles de croisière.
 
L’obusier automoteur 2S19 « Msta-S ». En 1989, on vit l'apparition d'un nouvel obusier automoteur 2S19. Conservant le calibre de 152 mm de son prédécesseur, le canon du 2S19 autorise une portée notablement accrue.
 
Système de missile TR-300 « Kasirga ». Le système « Kasirga » produit par la société turque Roketsan et a été adoptée récemment par l'armée azerbaïdjanaise, a un destructrice de 100 kilomètres.
 
Lance roquettes multiple 9K57 « Hurricane ». Le Uragan ou Hurricane 9K57 est un lance roquettes multiple à 16 coups de 220 mm, il est fabriqué par la firme Splav State Research and Production Association, situé à Tula en Russie. Ce système a été adopté à plusieurs reprises par l’armée azerbaïdjanaise, sera démontré pour la première fois dans la parade.
 
Hélicoptère d'attaque Mi-35M. Le premier lot de ces hélicoptères est en service du Service d’Etat frontalier, de l’Azerbaïdjan en Décembre 2011. Le contrat signé avec la Russie en 2010, prévoit la livraison de 24 hélicoptères. L'année dernière, la Russie a envoyé 8 autres hélicoptères vers l'Azerbaïdjan. Le Mi-35 est une version améliorée de Mi-24 et est conçu pour détruire des véhicules blindés.
 
La voiture de patrouille « Gurza ». Cette machine (4x4), produit par le ministère de l'Industrie de la Défense sur la base de Toyota HILLUX 12. Il est disponible pour les forces spéciales et les forces de l’ordre.
 
UAV «Heron». Ce drone, depuis 2003, produit par la société israélienne IAI, est considéré comme l'un des drones les plus avancés. Il est utilisé dans les armées d'Israël, les Etats-Unis, la France, la Turquie, le Brésil, l'Inde, le Canada et d'autres pays.
 
UAV «Hermes-450 ». Produit par une société israélienne «Elbit Systems». Il est inclus dans l’armée de différents pays, y compris l'Azerbaïdjan.
 
La nouvelle machine de renseignement et combat, fabriquée en Azerbaïdjan sur la base de BRDM. Première information sur cette voiture est apparue en Décembre 2012. La machine est équipée de moyens modernes de blindage.
 
Véhicule de combat d'infanterie BMP-3. Lors du défilé en 2011, a fait le passage de seulement 3 unités de BMP-3, cette année, leur nombre a augmenté.
 
En outre, seront démontrés les différents véhicules militaires, des canons antichars achetés récemment, et des fusils de précision antimatières de calibre 14,5 et 12,7 mm, 7,62 mm, produites par des sociétés azerbaïdjanaises, des mitrailleuses, et des mortiers.

Se tiendra en Septembre 2014, la 1ere édition de l'ADEX chez nos frères Azeris, un salon ambitieux.

Ce qui est bien pour nous, c'est qu'on sera comme à domicile, les Turcs auront un grand stand (T129 sera exposé en 2014).

Dans les années pairs, en Azerbaidjan (ADEX), dans les années impairs en Turquie (IDEF), nos entreprises pourront bien exposer leurs produits

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Turkey is about to solve the engine problems occurred in T-155 Firtina (Storm) howitzer and high-speed patrol boats sold to Azerbaijan, Turkish Secretariat of Defense Industries told APA.


As an alternative variant, engines of one of the world's leading countries have been selected.

Though Ukrainian-made engine have been suggested for Firtina system, this engine did not meet the requirements set forth.

MKE company is currently working on the production of self-propelled howitzers. T-155 “Firtina” contract signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey covers the purchase of 36 self-propelled howitzers.

The contract was signed in 2011. However, German MTU company that supplies engines for high-speed patrol boats produced both by “Firtina” and “Yonca Onuk” companies, refused to provide engines for military equipments ordered by Azerbaijan basing on embargo imposed by their country due to the armed conflict with Armenia.

The T-155 Firtina self-propelled howitzer is a modified variant of the Korean K9 Thunder. The T-155 Firtina is compatible with standard NATO 155-mm ammunition. Maximum range of fire is 30 km with standard HE projectile and 40 km with rocket-assisted projectile.

Firtina will be the second artillery system after 2S3 "Pion" systems for its range of fire in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
