Moscou veut plus de Sukhoi Su-34 !



Le ministère russe de la Défense prévoit de signer un nouveau contrat pour la livraison de plusieurs dizaines de bombardiers de première ligne Sukhoi Su-34 « Fullback » à la Force aérospatiale avec des capacités de combat étendues. L'avion intégrera la dernière suite avionique développée dans le cadre des travaux de conception expérimentale de Sych.

Le travail de conception expérimentale de Sych a été achevé en 2019. Il est envisagé d'installer des conteneurs de reconnaissance sous-suspendus sur les Su-34. De plus, la gamme d’armement sera étendue. A termes, l’ensemble de la flotte sera mise à jour.

Aujourd'hui, la Force aérospatiale russe exploite de 130 bombardiers de première ligne Su-34 « Fullback ».

Le Sukhoi Su-34 « Fullback » :

Le Su-34 « Fullback » peut attaquer des cibles terrestres, maritimes et aériennes, de jour comme de nuit et par tous les temps, en utilisant l’ensemble des types de munitions en service en Russie. En termes de capacités opérationnelles, il s'agit d'un appareil de génération 4+. Son système de sécurité active avec les nouveaux ordinateurs, fournit des capacités supplémentaires pour le pilote et le navigateur, pour effectuer des bombardements précis et à manœuvrer sous le feu ennemi. L’excellente aérodynamique de l’avion, les grands réservoirs de carburant de capacité interne, la nouvelle génération de moteurs plus économe en carburant, doté d’une commande numérique. Font que le Su-34 de bombardement tactique, se trouve très proche de la catégorie de bombardier stratégique de classe moyenne. L’avion dispose d'un système de brouillage numérique Khibiny L175V / KS418 grâce auquel l'avion peut être utilisé comme un brouilleur de combat aérien. Les deux radars (avant et arrière) sont couplés à un système de ciblage électro-optique qui est capable de capturer et de surveiller de façon continue plusieurs cibles simultanément.

Le Su-34 dispose également d’un système de communication et le système d'échange d'informations de type liaison16 (Link16) lui permettant une interface avec des troupes terrestres et des navires de surface, ainsi qu’avec d’autres aéronefs. Les caractéristiques du Su-34 incluent un rayon d’action jusqu'à 4000 km en convoyage, une vitesse maximale de 1900 km/h, et une charge utile de jusqu'à 8 tonnes. L'espace entre les sièges du cockpit permet de se coucher dans le couloir, le cas échéant. Un office et un WC sont situés derrière les sièges de l'équipage.

Arrivée d’un nouveau lot de Sukhoi Su-30SM2 !

United Aircraft Corporation a livré un nouveau lot d’avions de combat Sukhoi Su-30SM2 « Super Sukhoi » neufs au ministère de la Défense russe, a indiqué le gouvernement russe dans un communiqué publié lundi. Ces appareils ont été assemblés au sein de l'usine d'aviation d'Irkoutsk.

Rappel

La Force aérienne et aérospatiale russe dispose d’un grand nombre d’avions de combat Sukhoi Su-30SM. Le ministère russe de la Défense avait donné son feu vert au programme de mise à niveau au standard « SM2 » ou nommé parfois « Super Sukhoi ». Un peu plus de 130 appareils sont concernés par cette mise à niveau qui seront complétés par 21 appareils neufs. Le consortium UAC dont fait partie Sukhoi a annoncé ce vendredi avoir débuté les livraisons du nouveau standard SM2 en janvier 2021dont quatre appareils neufs. Le Su-30SM2 a obtenu sa certification en décembre dernier après une campagne de tests.

Le Su-30SM2 « Super Sukhoi »

Ce nouveau standard dispose d’un grand nombre d’améliorations, dont plusieurs pièces et équipement en provenance du Su-35. Ce rapprochement des deux modèles va grandement améliorer la maintenance des deux flottes. L’avion est doté d’une suite avionique similaire à celle du Su-35 basée sur une architecture ouverte utilisant des liaisons d'échange de données multiplex et comprend un système de gestion de l'information.

Question radar, le SM2 emporte le système PESA l'Irbis-E développé par Tikhomorov NIIP. Il permet des fonctions air-air, air-mer et air- modes sol (cartographie au sol, affinage du faisceau Doppler et modes Radar à synthèse d'ouverture peut détecter les menaces aériennes furtives faibles et très faibles. Il fonctionne en bande X avec un réseau d'antennes passives en phase (PAA) monté sur une unité d'entraînement hydraulique à deux étages (en azimut et en roulis). Le dispositif d'antenne balaye par un faisceau contrôlé électroniquement en azimut et en angle d'élévation dans des secteurs non inférieurs à 60°. L'unité d'entraînement électrohydraulique en deux étapes tourne en outre l'antenne par des moyens mécaniques à 60° en azimut et 120° en roulis. Ainsi, en utilisant la commande électronique et le tour supplémentaire mécanique de l'antenne, l'angle de déviation maximum du faisceau croît jusqu'à 120°. Avec une puissance nominale moyenne de 5 kilowatts, avec une cote CW de 2 kilowatts pour l'éclairage. NIIP revendique deux fois la bande passante et une agilité de fréquence améliorée par rapport aux BARS en service sur les SM1, et une meilleure capacité ECCM. L’Irbis-E peut détecter et suivre jusqu'à 30 cibles aéroportées à la fois à des distances proches de 350 ~ 400 kilomètres, et attaquer jusqu'à 8. En mode air-sol, l'Irbis-E fournit une cartographie permettant d'attaquer quatre cibles de surface avec précision avec des armes guidées tout en parcourant l'horizon à la recherche de menaces aéroportées pouvant être engagées à l'aide de missiles avec radar actif. Il peut détecter une cible avec une section efficace radar (RCS) de 3m 2 jusqu'à 400 km, (l'un vers l'autre, dans une zone de 100 degrés carrés) tandis qu'une cible avec un RCS de 0,01 m 2 à plus à 90 km.

En matière de communication, c’est le système intégré de communication multicanal, d'échange de données, de navigation et d'identification (OSNOD) qui est installé, permettant notamment aux avions et aux drones de communiquer entre eux, de maintenir un contact à grande vitesse le tout en réseau.

Pour la motorisation, le Su-30SM2 dispose de deux moteurs Saturn ALF-117, également monté sur le Su-35. Sa poussée est 16% plus élevée à 14’500 kg en pleine postcombustion par rapport au moteur ALF-31. De plus, celà permet une réduction des coûts de maintenance en doublant l'intervalle entre les révisions, atteignant désormais 4’000 heures. L'allumage au plasma rend ce dernier plus efficace, réduisant également sa consommation de carburant.

According to information published by Tass on December 7, 2022, Bastion coastal missile complexes of the Pacific fleet went on combat duty in Paramushir Island in the Kuril ridge.

The launchers were delivered to the island by big landing ships of the Primorye flotilla. Bastion will be on round-the-clock duty. A year ago Bastion complexes went on combat duty in Matua Island of the Kuril ridge.

About the Bastion system

The K-300P Bastion-P (NATO reporting name SS-C-5 Stooge) is a Russian mobile coastal defence missile system. The system was developed together with the Belarusian company Tekhnosoyuzproekt.

The main role of the Bastion-P is to engage surface ships including carrier battle groups, convoys, and landing craft. A typical battery is composed of 1-2 command and control vehicles based on the Kamaz 43101 6×6 truck, one support vehicle, four launcher vehicles based on the MZKT-7930 8×8 chassis each operated by a 3-man crew and holding two missiles, and four loader vehicles; launcher vehicles can be located up to 25 km (16 mi) away from the

C2 vehicles. Upon halting, missiles can be readied for firing within five minutes, and both fired in 2-5 second intervals. The mobile launcher can remain on active standby over a period of 3–5 days, or up to 30 days when accompanied by a combat duty support vehicle.

The missile used by the Bastion-P is the P-800 Oniks, a supersonic anti-ship missile with a 200–250 kg (440–550 lb) warhead. They are fired vertically from the launchers using a solid-fuel rocket booster for initial acceleration, then use a liquid-fuel ramjet for sustained cruising at Mach 2.5.

Russian Aerospace Forces received three more Su-34M front-line bombers


On 29 December 2022, the Russian Federation - Aerospace Forces (RF VKS) received another batch of three Sukhoi Su-34M (Su-34 NVO, NATO reporting name Fullback) front-line fighter bombers built at the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant (NAZ) named after V.P. Chkalov.


The delivered aircraft represent the 4th batch of Su-34M aircraft built by PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of the Rostec State Corporation) and they are part of the three-year contract signed in June 2020 by the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the delivery of 24 modernised Su-34M bombers. This last batch of three Su-34Ms of the year 2022 amounts the total number of delivered Su-34M aircraft to 14 units, with the total number of all Su-34s built reaching 153 (incl. seven experimental and pre-production aircraft).


Judging by the provided photos, the three new aircraft have been presumably marked with bort numbers 01, 02 and 03 Blue and delivered to a new unknown aviation regiment, which has not been using Su-34 bombers before.


The initial batch of four Su-34Ms was transferred to the Khurba airfield (near Komsomolsk-on-Amur) back in November 2021 and since then has been serving with the 277.BAP (bomber aviation regiment) of the 303.SAD (mixed aviation division), part of the 11.KA VKS i PVO (Red Banner Army of Aerospace and Air Defence Forces) of the Eastern Military District. In 2022, two more batches of Su-34Ms were transferred to the same regiment – four aicraft in June 2022 and three in November 2022.


The side numbers of the Su-34M bombers previously delivered to 277.BAP were retouched in all official photos but we can assume that the supplies to the regiment made it possible to at least partially equip the 3rd squadron of the 277.BAP with Su-34Ms. The 1st and 2nd squadron of the 277.BAP have been operating 26 Su-34 aircraft delivered in 2016-2017, with two aircraft having been lost in a mid-air collision over the Tatar Strait on 18 January 2019. The 3rd squadron of the regiment has still been flying the older Su-24M2 front-line bombers, transferred during rearmament of the first two squadrons. We can assume that the newly delivered bombers at least partially serve as replacements for the aircraft lost in 2022.


The current pace of the production of the Su-34s is expected to continue until the end of the 20s and beyond. In August 2022, another Su-34M contract was signed, although the parameters of this deal are not yet publicly known. Generally, the Su-34s are being procured in greater numbers than either the Su-30SM or the Su-35S, as the Su-34 type is being produced exclusively for domestic use, while a significant part of the production capacity of the other two models is reserved for export.


In Russia, the Su-34 family is valued for its tremendous range and carrying capacity, comparable to the Tu-22M-3 strategic bomber, as well as powerful EW systems, which, combined with a relatively small effective RCS, makes them quite difficult to intercept. The currently running Su-34 NVO upgrade is only a part of the future upgrade programme which also counts with Su-34s receiving (Izd.117?) engines from the Su-57, a move which would further boost the already impressive capabilities of the platform.

Vladimir Poutine a signé, jeudi, un décret concernant la conscription de plus de 147 000 soldats dans l'armée russe. La campagne commencera le 1er avril et prendra fin le 15 juillet; elle concerne les hommes de 18 à 27 ans. Le service militaire dure un an en Russie (deux ans jusqu'en 2008) et l'armée procède à deux périodes d'appel, l'une au printemps et l'autre à l'automne.

Pour l'appel du printemps 2022, le président Vladimir Poutine avait fixé pour objectif d'envoyer 134 500 jeunes dans les casernes. Normalement, et selon les assurances du Kremlin, ces conscrits (sauf s'ils sont volontaires) ne sont pas déployés en Ukraine. Mais ce ne serait pas totalement le cas, selon des sources russes qui assurent que de nombreux conscrits sont déployés près du front ukrainien. L'an dernier, Moscou l'avait reconnu et avait invoqué des "erreurs".

Russian army receives first new camo uniforms from Triada-TKO Kalashnikov

The Triada-TKO company has begun deliveries of a new all-weather field uniform kit (VKPO 3.0) to the Russian army, in a very different scheme and overall color than the current one, mainly in the green tint. The first delivery included several tens of thousands of summer and windproof sets of suits and caps. TOKYO -- Russia is suspected of buying back military supplies previously shipped to Myanmar and India, according to a Nikkei analysis of customs clearance data.


The survey found records of Russian repurchases of parts for tanks and missiles that had been exported to Myanmar and India. Russia may be reimporting the components to improve older weapons destined for use in Ukraine, relying on help from countries with which it has long-standing military ties.


The U.S., European nations and Japan have banned exports of goods with potential military use to Russia since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.


Nikkei analyzed customs clearance data on shipments to Russia made available by ImportGenius, an American research specialist, Exim Trade Data of India and other sources, examining records on Russia's imports of parts for weapons such as tanks and missiles.


UralVagonZavod, which manufactures tanks for the Russian military, for example, imported military products from the Myanmar army for $24 million on Dec. 9, 2022. The components were registered as having been made by UralVagonZavod.
The harmonized system (HS) codes for the reimported goods suggest the company repurchased 6,775 sighting telescopes and 200 cameras for installation in tanks. They are "probably optical devices to measure distance to targets and zero in on them," said Nobuyuki Akatani, a retired senior officer from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force who was involved in developing tanks.
Russia has an inventory of around 5,000 tanks, according to the 2023 edition of "The Military Balance," an annual report published by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, a British think tank.


"Russia has a lot of old T-72s [tanks] in storage that are in need of modernization and could be sent to the front line afterwards," said Oleg Ignatov, a Russia analyst with the International Crisis Group, a Brussels-based think tank. "I can add that optics is a big problem for the Russian military-industrial complex. It's plausible that they are trying to get optics this way."

Russian military receives initial batch of new self-propelled mortars

Russian defense and technology giant Rostec announced on Tuesday that the first new 2S41 Drok 82 mm self-propelled mortars were delivered to the Russian Army.

“An initial batch of 2S41 “Drok” 82-mm self-propelled mortars based on the armored vehicle “Typhoon-VDV” was handed over to the troops,” the release states.

The new Drok mortar system developed on Typhoon-VDV mine-resistant protected patrol vehicle and is equipped with an 82 mm mortar with a maximum range of 6,000 m and a minimum range of 100 m.


The Russian state arms export agency Rosoboronexport said that the Drok mortar is intended for defeating enemy personnel, firing assets and soft-skin targets, as well as for blinding observation posts and smoke screening of illuminated areas.

The 2S41 is equipped with a modern fire control system that provides calculation of firing data. All operations to prepare fire are carried out from the fighting compartment, many are automated.

The mortar can fire conventional 82 mm ammunition, as well as new rounds with increased power and range. There is an additional 82 mm mortar with a bipod and baseplate stored in the vehicle. It can be used in the field by the dismounts.

Russia Now Uses 120 mm Mortar Ammunition Supplied by Myanmar


According to a tweet from Ukraine Weapons Tracker on July 26, 2023, the Russian army is reportedly beginning to use ammunition supplied by Myanmar. Burmese 120 mm HE (High Explosive) mortar bombs of the 120ER model have recently been spotted in Russian service.

On June 27, 2023, the Russian state-owned conglomerate Rostec made an announcement about the successful completion of state trials for the 8x8 wheeled 152mm self-propelled howitzer known as 2S43 Malva. This news is particularly significant as the Russian Army had previously lacked such wheeled self-propelled artillery units (SPAs), which are crucial for various tactical situations.

The development team emphasizes the mobility advantages of the 2S43 Malva, which allows for quick positioning and disengagement to avoid counter-battery fire, a critical aspect of modern warfare. The successful state trials conducted by Rostec's specialists pave the way for the potential integration of the 2S43 Malva into Russia's armed forces, enhancing the country's military capabilities. The wheeled self-propelled design offers increased versatility in various military operations, suitable for different landscapes. The 2S43 was unveiled in 2020, as reported at the time by the Army Recognition editorial team.


The development of the 2S43 Malva was part of a larger project called "Sketch," initiated by the Central Research Institute Burevestnik in collaboration with several related organizations and NPK Uralvagonzavod, a Russian Defense Manufacturer. The development and testing of the howitzer began in the late 2010s, and in October 2020, General of the Army Oleg Salyukov, the commander-in-chief of the ground forces, revealed the general plans for the "Sketch" project, scheduled to be completed by 2022. The wheeled 152mm self-propelled howitzer underwent factory tests by the end of 2020, with a modified prototype expected to undergo further testing in the spring or summer of 2021.

The 2S43 Malva is a 152mm wheeled self-propelled artillery system based on the all-terrain, reliable four-axle, 8x8 BAZ-6010-027 all-wheel drive truck. It features an open artillery unit and an armored cabin to accommodate the crew during transportation. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with smoke grenade launchers on the roof of the cockpit and small arms for self-defense. The cargo platform allows for the placement of various units and stowages, with the artillery unit installed in the rear.

By utilizing the same 2A64 152-mm gun as the 2S19 Msta-S tracked self-propelled howitzer, the 2S43 Malva inherits all the advantages and firing capabilities of the 2S19 system. This ensures better logistics, maintenance, and supply, while also allowing the experience and expertise gained from operating the 2S19 to be seamlessly transferred to the 2S43, enhancing the overall effectiveness and interoperability of the artillery units on the battlefield.

The 152mm gun on the 2S43 Malva can fire projectiles weighing approximately 43 kilograms at a maximum firing range of 24,500 meters, with a rate of fire estimated to be around 7-8 rounds per minute, significantly higher than other artillery systems of its type. This high rate of fire is achieved through a specially designed gun-loading mechanism. With an ammunition load of 30 rounds, the 2S43 Malva weighs 32,000 kg, making it notably lighter than the tracked 2S19 Msta-S. It has an elevation range of -3 to +70 degrees and a traverse range of 60 degrees.

One intriguing feature of the howitzer is its ability to perform a "simultaneous barrage" mode, firing multiple projectiles simultaneously to saturate a target area. The onboard equipment facilitates ammunition handling and provides automated fire control for the crew of five. Additionally, the 2S43 Malva is equipped with an autonomous power unit, ensuring continuous electricity supply while in position.

Operated by a crew of five, the 2S43 Malva measures 13 meters in length, 2.75 meters in width, and 3.1 meters in height. Under the hood, the 2S43 Malva is powered by a YaMZ-8424.10 diesel engine, generating 470 horsepower. This enables it to achieve a maximum road speed of 80 km/h and offers an operational range of 1000 km without refueling. Additionally, the howitzer can be transported by the Il-76 transport aircraft, allowing for swift deployment to distant locations.

Regarding its maneuverability, the 2S43 Malva can handle gradients of up to 60% and side slopes of 40%. It can surmount vertical steps of approximately 0.6 meter and cross trenches of about 2 meters. Additionally, it can ford through water with a depth of up to 1.4 meters.

The use of wheeled chassis is a modern trend in artillery development, providing increased mobility and resource efficiency compared to tracked vehicles, offering a more cost-effective solution. For example, the 2S43 Malva has demonstrated faster deployment, disengagement, and targeting capabilities compared to towed artillery pieces. Several countries, including China, France, Iran, and Ukraine, have showcased their wheeled self-propelled guns, while Russia aims to expand its presence in this market, potentially considering the Malva for export after successful testing and evaluation.

The 2S43 Malva is considered a promising addition to the divisional artillery of the Russian Ground Forces. Its lightweight, high mobility and cost-effective operation make it a valuable complement to the existing tracked 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled guns. While it is expected to offer certain advantages over tracked systems, such as increased deployment speed and reduced operating costs, it may face challenges in terms of crew protection compared to its tracked counterpart.

According to an article by Alona Mazurenko in Ukrainska Pravda, Kyrylo Budanov, the Chief of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, has revealed that a Russian pilot defected and cooperated with Ukrainian Defence Intelligence by flying a Mi-8 AMTSh helicopter nearly 100 km into Ukraine, landing in the Kharkiv region after covering a distance of nearly 100km on August 23rd. Budanov stated that the pilot is in good spirits and is inclined to remain in Ukraine. The pilot is set to play a prominent role in an upcoming film produced by Defence Intelligence, scheduled for release on September 7th.
