Iran will soon complete building the second domestically manufactured destroyer, named the Jamaran-2. The work is under completion, the Iranian navy commander Habibollah Sayyari said on Saturday.

Habibollah Sayyari added that other destroyers will be also manufactured, but an exact date can not be determined for the destroyers to join the fleet, IRNA news agency reported.

On October 9, 2011, the Jamaran, the first domestically manufactured destroyer, was dispatched on a mission in international waters.

The mission of the fleet was to provide security for Iranian merchant vessels and commercial ships in the Gulf of Aden.

The Jamaran can carry helicopters. It is equipped with torpedoes. It is 94 meters long and weighs over 1,500 tons. The warship is capable of engaging in surface, air, and undersea warfare.

la class jamran et de 95m de long et 1500T de dep elle a un pont de 70T construit en Alu et elle est armé de 2 canon de 70mm et de 40 mm

plus des missiles de surface et des torpilles et un système de défonce aérien basé sur des missiles surface/air

Antonov a par ailleurs fait remarquer que « conformément à la résolution 1929 du Conseil de sécurité, le président russe Dimitri Medvedev avait introduit plusieurs limitations sur la coopération militaro-technique avec Téhéran ». Le vice-ministre a assuré que « la Russie suit scrupuleusement ces limitations et que Moscou ne viole pas les restrictions prévues par les sanctions ».

Iranian aviation experts have produced a new indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which possesses high capabilities and versatile features to meet its objectives.
Reza Danandeh Hakamabad, the aeronautics engineer in charge of the project, said on Friday that the new remote-controlled aircraft, called Shaparak (Butterfly), has a maximum operational radius of 50 kilometers (31 miles), and a maximum flight ceiling of 15,000 feet (4,572 meters).

The aircraft is capable of three and half hours of non-stop flying, and can carry an 8-kilogram (17-pound) payload.

He added that the unmanned aircraft is powered by a two-cylinder engine, and is equipped with three digital color cameras, that can transmit high-resolution footage to the base on the ground.

Danandeh Hakamabad noted that Shahparak drone can perform a wide variety of functions, including military missions, border patrol, forest and road traffic monitoring, search and rescue, pipeline monitoring as well as transport.

Over the past years, Iran has developed a number of variants of the indigenous remotely-piloted Ababil aircraft, including the tactical Ababil-5 for medium-range reconnaissance and surveillance missions, the Ababil-T for short/medium-range attack missions, and also the Ababil-B and -S.

Speaking to reporters after a cabinet meeting in the capital, Tehran, on January 29, Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said the Islamic Republic will soon unveil a new domestically-manufactured naval surveillance plane.

The new maritime patrol plane has high flight duration, enabling it to keep maritime areas under surveillance via optical and radar subsystems.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defense systems.

Iran has repeatedly assured other nations, especially regional neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, insisting that its defense doctrine is merely based on deterrence.

Je pense que l'Iran aurait du profiter de l’époque Khatemi pour se doter de quelques avions modernes, au lieu d'aller investir dans un programme nucléaire secret, parce que là ils ont une armée de l'air dans un état pitoyable.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said that Iran has achieved good results in developing and producing the Iranian version of the sophisticated Russian S-300 air defense missile system.


"The production of an alternative (air defense) missile system for S-300 is underway and parts of the work have been done and yielded good results so far," Vahidi told reporters on the sidelines of military parades staged on the occasion of the National Army Day here in Tehran on Tuesday.

Vahidi added that relevant information about the latest developments in the production of the sophisticated missile system will be announced this Iranian year (started on March 20).

In December, a top Iranian Air Defense commander announced that the designing phase of the Iranian version of S-300 air defense missile system has ended and the system would soon be manufactured and delivered to the country's integrated air defense network.

"The design of the system has been accomplished by local elite experts," Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli told reporters.

"The system has been designed by Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Command, Iranian industries and academic centers and will join the country's air defense network in the near future," Esmayeeli noted.

He further said that the missile system, dubbed as Bavar (Belief) 373, is even more powerful and more advanced than the Russian S-300.

"Bavar 373 system is an important and completely indigenous achievement that can be a powerful rival for S-300," the commander reiterated.

Under a contract signed in 2007, Russia was to provide Iran with at least five S-300 air-defense systems. But later, Moscow shrugged off doing its end of the bargain under different excuses.

Moscow's continued delays in delivering the defense system drew criticism from the Islamic Republic on several occasions.

And eventually, Russia refused to deliver the system to Iran under the pretext that the system is covered by the fourth round of UN Security Council resolutions against Iran.

Hajizadeh did not give further details, saying: “This aircraft is a national treasure for us, and I cannot divulge information about it.”
But he added Iran has “started producing a copy of the RQ-170 drone,” stressing it used the same U.S. technology in stealth fighters and bombers.
U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., swiftly dismissed the general’s remarks as “Iranian bluster.”
“There is some history here of Iranian bluster, particularly now when they’re on the defensive because of our economic sanctions against them,” said Lieberman, who leads the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
The unmanned, bat-winged RQ-170 Sentinel drone went down in Iran four months ago, and Iran’s military proudly displayed it on state television apparently intact, though with what appeared to be damage to one of its wings.
Iran claimed one of its cyberwarfare teams hacked its controls by confusing its GPS guidance system, and has said ever since it would reverse-engineer the drone to make its own.
U.S. officials admitted they lost the drone on a CIA mission over Iran but asserted the stealth aircraft came down because of a technical problem, not Iranian intervention.
While U.S. President Barack Obama made a vain request for Iran to return the drone, his defense secretary, Leon Panetta, voiced skepticism over how much technological knowledge Tehran could gain from the aircraft.
The latest drone claim comes against the backdrop of spiraling international tension and sanctions over Iran’s suspect nuclear program.
Tehran denies Western assertions it is trying to produce an atomic weapon.

Même s'il copie ou ce qui font est de mauvaise qualité, il faut saluer leurs efforts pour se défendre avec leurs moyens
