l'annulation de african lion est une conséquence et n'est la cause de rien les M-1 ont été retarder pour des souci de budget surtout mais jamais on n'allait annulé ce contrat très important pour nous pour l'armée de terre surtout

C'est ce que j'ai compris, ce n'est pas logique que le M1A1 soit en priorité se la contrepartie ( CAD nous ) n'a pas honoré son deal avec au moins une anticipation, mais de l'autre part a croire yak , que nous avons 200M$ a claquer pour autres choses que les M1 en ce moment   , veut seulement dire que c'est un excédent come somme pour notre portefeuille, que le contrat des M1 financièrement est deja bouclè..wa lllah a3lam !

Le M1A1 n'est pas encore sorti en EDA donc son refurbishment ne peut être inclus dans les 200m$. Je pense plutôt que c'est pour les CH-47D et payements d'autres anciens contrats.

Dans la précipitation j'ai oublier de demander un éclaircissement : sa veut dire quoi concrètement mettre dans le "top priority" le contrat des M1 ?
C'est un message qu'ils veulent faire passer pour nous presser ou quoi ? parce que j'ai envie de dire si c'est dans le top de leur priorité , signons le contrat alors on attend quoi pour le faire , ou plutot qu'attend notre EM pour conclure le deal . Peut etre notre EM hésite ou négocie trop , donc ils veulent nous presser a conclure   

Je pense que ca sera bouclé en 2014 en raison du programme budgetaire 2014-18 récement annoncé.

M1 priority pour le USASAC/AFRICOM qui manage ca,donc still processing..nous on prend notre temps,mais ca commencera surement en 2014 apres la visite de G Bennani

The most surprising earnings call this past week from a DC defense perspective was General Dynamics, particularly management expectations for Combat Systems and IS&T.We expect the President’s State of the Union address on Jan. 28 will be a non-event for defense stocks. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence is holding a Jan 29 hearing on “Current and Projected National Security Threats Against the United States” .
For Combat Systems, GD management guidance was for a 4%-4.5% revenue decline in 2014. Embedded in that guidance is an international contract to be booked in Q1 for resulting in $1.2 billion in 2014 sales, So excluding that contract, the rest of Combat Systems revenues decline 24% which follows a 23% fall in 2013.

Management has been mum on who the customer is for this order that results in $1.2 billion of sales but it could be either from Morocco for 200 M1A1 Abrams (Congress was notified of this sale in June 2012) or possibly Saudi Arabia.

The Morocco sale involves transfer of tanks considered Excess Defense Articles but which are upgraded to an SA configuration. In the June 2012 notification by  DoD's DSCA (Defense Security Cooperation Agency) to Congress, a $1.105 billion value was assigned to the deal.As for Saudi Arabia, that country has a potential buy of up to 270 M1 tanks to re-equip one of its armored brigades. The interest in M1s emerged following reports last spring of collapse of a deal for the Kingdom to buy Leopard 2 tanks from Germany's Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (which is closely held).

J'en suis sur c'est les notre , le montant du contrat ressemble étrangement a celui de nos M1, 270 M1 des saoudiens dépassent largement ce montant , et il n'y a que nous et les Saouds comme possible acquéreur de M1 sur le marché , corrigez moi si je me trompe . Bref ils arrivent Inchallah . Allez hop je fait passer l'info sur les autres forums

Portman urged Morocco to replace its aging tank fleet with vehicles from the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center.

"I am pleased that the Moroccan government is looking to further build upon this relationship by procuring the Ohio-built Abrams tank," Portman said in a press release. "Ambassador Bouhlal and I had a good discussion, and he was particularly impressed by the reputation of Ohio's advanced manufacturing."

The Defense Department previously asked to mothball the Lima production facility from 2014 to 2017 because officials believe they have enough tanks and want to save money. The plant is trying to remain operational with its current 500 employees by relying on foreign sales.

Portman also announced he sent a letter to the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, asking to qualify Lima for assistance through the Office of Economic Adjustment Defense Industry Adjustment Program. The program helps workforces in communities affected by changes in Defense Department decisions.

Les iraquiens les ont eu new de fabrique, pas transferés des stocks de l'USArmy  Et les egyptiens les montent toujours avec les kits envoyés (New). tu crois que si les Sauds le payent ils n'auront pas des Km 0?

Bref...si tu veut, refourbishment+upgrade, et on sait tus qu'ils prennet pas de M1A1AIM/SA/etc. mais des M1A2. 270 ne vont pas couter pas 1.200 millions.

Le dernier (2006) ça leur a couté 2.900 millions pour seulment upgrade du stock saudien plus achat de qulques unités new.

Mia flemia dialna. La notification initiale c'était 200 M1 SA pour 1mds $. mais c'était il y a 3/4 ans. Ça doit donc toujours être pour 200 pièces + munitions+ soutien et certainement du matos pour nouaceur.

Zaama PGM c'est sur pour le spécial armor ? J'ai chercher sur internet j'ai rien trouver de clair sur ce spécial armor , par contre le format situational awareness c'est très clair . J'aimerais bien avoir plus d'infos sur le spécial armor
