The government plans to Navantia commissioned 300 million
(Infodefensa.com) Madrid - The government is considering whether to instruct a new amphibious helicopter carrier Navantia ( LHD ), as Juan Carlos I , or two Maritime Action Ship ( BAM ) for a total amount of 300 million to 350 million euros . These options are specific plans developed by the Minister of Finance , Cristobal Montoro , in an appearance in Congress last February. So says elEconomista on information on citing "reliable sources in the Ministry of Finance , "and added that the necessary funding would be made through the Ministry of Industry . The Ministry of Defense consulted Infodefensa.com not want the moment to comment on this issue, which neither confirms nor denies. Industry sources noted at the time that even the promise of Montoro did not respond to any particular plan were already in place before their statements. Finally ordered a new LHD, Spain would have two units of the largest military vessel in the history of the Navy , a goal that self AJEMA ( Chief of Navy ) includes in its estimates for the 2020-2025 period. In that case, it would be more difficult is to obtain a substitute for carrier planes Harrier , which at that time no longer expected to be operational and will be difficult to replace the only option: F35B , short version of vertical takeoff and landing program multinational Joint Strike Fighter which is not part of Spain. The outdoor sale first choice If the chosen option is the construction of two new BAM, then resume partially deferred construction of a second phase of these ships (the Navy already has four units in the first phase), which included the construction of five ships total . For your information, the business daily said that option would be shuffling the new order they were first to market in the international market, which not only met this goal would join the fleet of the Spanish Armada.

Four confirmed dead as Spain finds missing helicopter
A military helicopter that crashed into the sea near the Canary Islands was found Sunday with the bodies of its four missing crew members inside, the Spanish government said, AFP reports.
The Super Puma helicopter, which crashed while practising a routine rescue operation, was found by a deep-diving robot in the early hours of the morning at a depth of more than 2,300 metres, Spain's defence ministry said in a statement. "According to images sent by the robot from the boat 'Ares', the four missing crew members are still inside," the ministry said. It added it is studying the "viability" of recovering the bodies." The helicopter was found at a depth of 2,363 metres, which has complicated the recovery operation," the statement said. One crew member survived the accident on March 19. Naval, police and maritime rescue services had been combing an area of about 45 kilometres from Fuertaventura - one of the largest islands in the archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa - as they tried to find the wreckage. http://voiceofrussia.com/news/2014_04_20/Four-confirmed-dead-as-Spain-finds-missing-helicopter-9572/
