La Russie livrera huit chasseurs Su-30MK2 au Vietnam en 2010, a annoncé mercredi le directeur général adjoint de l'agence russe d'exportation d'armes "Rosoboronexport" Alexandre Mikheïev au Salon aérospatial international MAKS-2009 à Joukovski, dans la région de Moscou.

"Un contrat sur la livraison d'avions Su-30MK2 a été signé en janvier dernier, nous le réaliseront en 2009-2010", a indiqué M.Mikheïev.

Le chasseur biplace polyvalent Su-30MK2 est une version modifiée du Su-27 destiné à détruire des cibles volantes, terrestres et maritimes, à effectuer des missions de reconnaissance et à former des personnels navigants.

Vietnam ordered a fleet of six Russian-made submarines in 2009 in a step seen as an effort to counterbalance China’s expanding maritime influence in the region. The contract, which also stipulates the training of Vietnamese submarine crews in Russia, is reportedly worth $2 billion.
Vilnit says construction on the craft is going according to the schedule specified in the contract.
The submarines are being built at the Admiralteiskie Verfi shipyard in St. Petersburg. All six boats are due for delivery by 2016.
The Project 636 class boats displace 3,100 tons, reach speeds of 20 knots, can dive to 300 meters and carry crews of 52 people.
The submarines, which feature 533-milimeter torpedo tubes and are armed with torpedos, mines, and Kalibr 3M54 (NATO SS-N-27 Sizzler) cruise missiles, are mainly intended for anti-shipping and anti-submarine missions in relatively shallow waters.

Astrium, the European leader in space technologies, is the prime contractor for the VNREDSat-1, the first Vietnamese Earth observation satellite, scheduled for launch on a Vega rocket from the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou on 03 May.

Astrium received the order for the VNREDSat-1 programme from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) in July 2010, under an agreement signed in 2009 between the French and Vietnamese Governments. Under this contract, Astrium is responsible for the development, construction and launch of the VNREDSat-1 optical satellite, capable of taking images of the Earth with a resolution of 2.5 metres. In Vietnam, Astrium was also prime contractor for the design and construction of the satellite ground control segment and the satellite image receiving and processing stations. The company was also responsible for training the 15 Vietnamese engineers who will operate the satellite.

After five years of research and designing, Vietnamese scientists have created and successfully tested three prototypes of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the first of its kind in Vietnam.

Three prototypes are among the five UAVs that have been created by scientists at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, said Dr Pham Ngoc Lang, who chairs the project entitled “Studies and manufacture of unmanned aerial vehicles for scientific research purposes.”

Scientists began their research in 2008 to create these prototypes and their study became one of the State-level research topics in 2011, Lang said.

These five UAVs include AV.UAV.MS1, AV.UAV.S1, AV.UAV.S2, AV.UAV.S3 and AV.UAV.S4. All of them are manufactured locally, with domestically produced materials.

With their weights ranging from 4 kg to 170 kg and their wingspans from 1.2 to 5 meters, these aircraft can take off on a runway, the top of a car, or a mobile launching platform, or by hand manipulation.

They are equipped with an automated flight system – Autopilot on Board, an advanced camera system, and devices and equipment for scientific research.

Of these aircraft, the smallest (4kg) can fly at 70kph within a radius of 2 km and at a maximum altitude of 200 m.

Meanwhile, the biggest (170 kg) can fly at 180 kph, within a radius of 100 km and at an elevation of 3,000 meters. It can continuously fly for 6 hours in both daytime and nighttime.

The flight ranges of AV.UAV.S3 and AV.UAV.S4 can be extended using guiding satellites or ground control stations.

Les deux parties ont proposé plusieurs programmes de coopération entre les forces navales des deux pays dont l'accélération de la création d'une ligne rouge afin de régler à temps les problèmes survenant en mer auxquels les deux parties s'intéressent. La Marine royale du Brunei enverra ses officiers au Vietnam pour apprendre le Vietnamien, outre des navires pour des échanges avec la Marine populaire du Vietnam.

Le général Phung Quang Thanh a vivement apprécié les relations de coopération entre les armées et les forces navales des deux pays lors de ces derniers temps, avant de souligner que le développement de ces relations dans la défense a créé les conditions d'une accélération des relations de coopération dans plusieurs autres domaines.

Dans les temps à venir, l'Armée et la Marine des deux pays doivent renforcer leurs échanges de délégation de tous échelons, organiser des échanges entre navires comme entre jeunes officiers, ainsi que coopérer dans la formation à la recherche et au sauvetage maritimes, la lutte contre le terrorisme et la piraterie entre les deux Marines . -VNA

Le vice-ministre de la Défense, le général Nguyen Chi Vinh, a reçu mardi à Hanoi l'ambassadeur de Nouvelle-Zélande, Haike Manning.

Le général Nguyen Chi Vinh a souligné que ces derniers temps, les relations de coopération dans la défense entre les deux pays ont connu de nouvelles avancées, notamment en termes d'échanges de délégation, de formation, de police maritime, de marine, ainsi que de partage d'expériences dans la participation aux forces de maintien de la paix de l'ONU.

En dehors des multiples secteurs de la coopération bilatérale, les deux pays se soutiennent aussi au sein de forums multilatéraux comme l'ADMM+ (Conférence des ministres de la Défense de l'ASEAN élargie) ou l'ARF (Forum régional de l'ASEAN).

M. Nguyen Chi Vinh est convaincu que dans ses fonctions, l'ambassadeur de Nouvelle-Zélande contribuera notablement au développement des relations de coopération entre les armées et les peuples des deux pays.

A cette occasion, M. Haike Manning a vivement apprécié la visite dans son pays du ministre vietnamien de la Défense, le général Phung Quang Thanh.

Le mécanisme de coopération en matière de défense a donné plusieurs opportunités de coopération en divers domaines entre les pays, a-t-il déclaré.

M. Haike Manning a affirmé faire de son mieux pour contribuer notablement au bon développement de la coopération bilatérale. -VNA
