The systerious missile system was spotted this week at an port Bandar-e Anzali in Iran.

Presumably this launcher vehicles from the Russian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system based on Iran made  chassis.

Previously reported that Russia will begin the shipment of the first batch of S-300 surface-to-air missile systems within days, according to a senior Russian diplomat quoted byInterfax.

“I don’t know if this will happen today, but they (S-300 missiles) will be loaded (for shipment to Iran),” said Zamir Kabulov, a department chief at the Russian Foreign Ministry, on April 5 in Moscow.

Analysis : Russian S-300PMU2 missile systems will increase air defense capabilities of Iran.

Russia has started the deliveries of S-300PMU2 Favorit (NATO reporting name: SA-20b Gorgoyle b) air defense systems (ADS) to Iran. The deliveries will have been completed by end-2016, according to Russian Vice-Premier Dmitry Rogozin. He pointed out, that Russia had supplied the first batch of S-300PMU2 ADS to Iran. Rogozin mentioned, that the deliveries would be finished before the year-end.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has launched large-scale security drills in the country’s southeast featuring the first operational surveillance flight of its indigenous Hamasseh drone. The maneuvers, codenamed The Great Prophet (PBUH), started out in Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province on Tuesday. The area covered by the drills was being monitored by 10 reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force used Iran's new state-of-the-art reconnaissance and combat drone, 'Hamaseh (Epic)', during the massive wargames underway Southeast of the country on Tuesday. In addition to Hamaseh, other home-made drones, including Mohajer, Ababil and Shahed also flew over the drills zone.

Iran’s Parliament passes bill to boost Defense budget
Iranian lawmakers approved a bill that obliges the administration to allocate five percent of the annual state public budget to the country’s defense sector, starting from the current Iranian calendar year


In an open session of the parliament on Monday, the MPs approved the proposal to further reinforce the defense capabilities of the Islamic Republic, as a regional power.

According to the law, President Hassan Rouhani’s administration must allocate at least 5% of the public budget to projects aimed at bolstering the country’s defense power.

Earlier this year, the head of the Iranian parliament’s defense committee had stressed the need to boost the country’s defense budget.

“Currently, the country’s defense budget is meager in comparison with some regional countries,” Esmail Kowsari told Tasnim in January, adding that it has to increase.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in enhancing its defense capabilities.

Tehran has always assured other nations, though, that its military might poses no threat to the regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.

La force anti-aérienne iranienne est désormais équipée du système russe S-300, a déclaré mardi le ministre iranien de la Défense, le général Hassan Dehghan, cité par l'agence Isna.

"J'informe notre peuple que (...), nous sommes en possession du système stratégique S-300" et qu'il "est au service de notre force anti-aérienne", a déclaré le général Dehghan.

Une partie des équipements du système anti-missiles S-300 russe, notamment des tubes de missiles et le système radar, avait été montrée le 17 avril lors d'un défilé militaire dans le sud de Téhéran.

Les Etats-Unis et Israël ont critiqué la Russie à propos de ce contrat, le système S-300 permettant à l'Iran de renforcer sa défense anti-aérienne face à toute éventuelle attaque, notamment contre ses installations nucléaires.

L'Iran et la Russie avaient conclu en 2007 un contrat pour la livraison de ce système, mais en 2010 Moscou avait suspendu la vente en application d'une résolution du Conseil de sécurité de l'Onu contre le programme nucléaire iranien. En 2015, peu avant la conclusion d'un accord international sur le programme nucléaire iranien, Moscou a de nouveau autorisé la livraison des S-300.

Les deux pays sont également en discussion pour la livraison à l'Iran d'avions de chasse russes Sukhoi 30, ce qui est également critiqué par Washington.
Le général Dehghan a également annoncé "l'entrée en production cette année du système anti-aérien iranien Bavar 373, capable de détruire des missiles de croisière, des drones, des avions de combats et des missiles balistiques". "Ce système longue portée est capable de détruire plusieurs cibles à la fois", a-t-il ajouté.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Iran has already prepared all necessary documents to withdraw a lawsuit over Moscow's non-delivery of the S-300 air defense systems to Tehran, but the terms of such withdrawal are not clear, the Russian presidential aide on military-technical cooperation said Thursday.

"The Iranian side has prepared all the documents, sent them to Paris [where International Court of Arbitration is located], everything else is legal proceedings. The terms of withdrawal are not clear yet," Vladimir Kozhin told reporters, commenting on the timing of the complaint's withdrawal.


In 2007, Moscow and Tehran signed a $900-million deal for the delivery of five S-300 missile systems to Iran. In 2010, Russia suspended the contract, citing a UN Security Council resolution that placed an arms embargo on Tehran until it proved the peaceful nature of its nuclear project. Tehran filed a lawsuit against Moscow over the incident to the International Court of Arbitration.
In 2015, Moscow annulled the S-300 delivery ban, after Iran and six world powers, including Russia, reached a framework nuclear deal to lift the anti-Tehran sanctions in exchange for guarantees of the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities.
On April 11, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that Russia had made the first contracted delivery of the S-300 systems as scheduled.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Russia will complete the delivery of S-300 air defense systems to Iran by the end of the year, according to a Russian presidential aide for military-technical cooperation.

Speaking to Russian state news agency TASS, Vladimir Kozhin said that one S-300 battalion has already been supplied to Iran. He added that other launchers due under the effective contract would be delivered by the end of 2016.

"The first batch — about one battalion — has been shipped. We will comply with our liabilities by the end of the year," Kozhin told TASS.

The first battalion was shown off by the Iranian military at the National Army Day parade in Tehran on April 17, six days after the receipt of the system.

La fin des sanctions internationales contre l’Iran a permis à Téhéran de recevoir les deux premiers des cinq systèmes antiaériens de moyenne portée S-300, attendus depuis 2007. Moscou, qui s’était engagé à livrer deux premiers systèmes avant la fin 2016, aurait accéléré son calendrier. Mais surtout les systèmes reçus par les Iraniens seraient bien plus redoutables.

Suite à l’accord entre Athènes et Tel-Aviv, qui a permis aux Israéliens de tester les vulnérabilités des PMU-1 grecs, Téhéran a convaincu Moscou de lui livrer une version modernisée, les S-300 PMU-2. Le premier système serait, selon certaines sources israéliennes, déjà opérationnel. D’autant que la formation des 80 opérateurs iraniens a débuté dès le mois de janvier au sein de l’Académie militaire Mozhaisky de Saint-Pétersbourg. Une acquisition historique pour l’Iran, qui est désormais en mesure de sanctuariser son territoire grâce à la capacité antibalistique de la version PMU-2.

Chaque système iranien sera doté de huit postes de tir délivrant 32 missiles de plusieurs types en fonction de la portée de la menace (dont le plus véloce atteint les 6 000 km/h), de la dernière version du radar de détection 64N6E2 portant à 400 km et capable de suivre simultanément une centaine de cibles. A ceci s’ajouterait une option pour les radars 76N6 dédiés à la détection d’aéronefs furtifs (SER de 0,02 m !) volant à basse altitude et à haute vitesse (jusqu’à 2 500 km/h) de type drones ou missiles de croisière.

En outre, Téhéran pourrait non seulement s’appuyer sur son réseau de radars longue portée (1 100 km) situés à Garmsar, près de Bassora sur la frontière irako-koweïtienne, et depuis mars à Khatam al-Anbiya sur les rives du Golfe Persique portant à 3 000 km et dédié aux cibles spatiales. Téhéran pourrait compter sur le réseau d’alertes avancées russe, plus précisément du radar UHF longue portée 77Ya6 Voronej-DM du site d’Armavir sur la côte orientale de la mer Noire, qui, avec sa portée horizontale de 6 000 km et verticale de 8 000 km, couvre la Méditerranée et l’ensemble du Moyen-Orient.

Bien que le S-500 remplacera prochainement le S-300 dans les forces russes, Moscou articule habilement diplomatie et politique d’exportation pour étendre ses zones d’interdiction.

the MiG-29UB two-seat combat trainer of Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) crashed upon take off on the runway of the air base, due to a technical failure. A MiG-29UB fighter aircraft of Iran’s Air Force had to make an emergency landing at a military airport in the western city of Hamedan, during which one of the pilots was killed and the other suffered vertebral injury.

On Tuesday morning, technical problems during a training operation forced the warplane to make an emergency landing at the Nojeh airbase in Hamedan.

One of the pilots, Major Ruzbeh Nazerian, suffered a concussion in the crash and was pronounced dead later after being admitted to a hospital.

The other serviceman, Ali Qolipour has also fractured his vertebra during the incident.

The MiG-29 is a twin-engine jet fighter aircraft, developed in the Soviet Union during the 1970s. Iran’s Air Force is believed to have 25 MiG-29s.

According to IRIAF, the Mig-29UB will be repaired and returned to service.

Pilatus PC-7 light trainer aircraft crashes in central Iran, 2 injured

An Iranian Air Force training plane crashed in the central province of Isfahan on Sunday, injuring two people on board.

The PC-7, a light trainer aircraft, took off from Martyr Babaei Airbase near the city of Isfahan.

The crash occurred at 12:20 p.m. local time due to a technical failure.

The aircraft touched the ground near the village of Zafarqand, along a road between the cities of Naeen and Ardestan.

The two people on board the plane have sustained injuries.

The Pilatus PC-7 Turbo Trainer is a low-wing tandem-seat aircraft, capable of basic training functions including aerobatics, instrument, tactical and night flying. It was introduced in 1978.
